Like this if you totally get what Lecrae is now doing. He is embracing his Hip Hop background and culture, whilst being a beacon pointing his fellow black hip hop brothers to Christ. Jesus didn't seclude himself from the sinners, but rebuked the religious, those who secluded themselves from the sinners. He ate, preached and told them the truth. Lecrae understand where the Lord has placed him, and he is definitely going to the ends of the earth to preach the gospel - the ends, the trap house and the crib. I could say more but this is enough. So, this is for all that think Lecrae is "falling away". Nope, he's on a missionary trip

I'm so proud of my man Lecrae. I was introduced to him back in 6th grade, nearly 8 years ago. I listened to him more than any other artist, as I loved the raw and real approach he had in expressing faith through music. My headphones were always looping the latest album release as I avoided others in the hallways at school. I broke my arm and listened to Gravity every day. Listened to Anomaly through hard times involving relationships. Church Clothes ii during finals. Church Clothes iii when I lost most of my friends, and too many other occasions to name. Upon graduating school, life became harder than ever before. The history of his music will always be there for me, but unfortunately, I don't click with the new songs. I respect everything he is doing, and I would never suggest he go back to the old style. He is reaching others far beyond the line of typical Christian music, and it is a need for our current generation. Personally, it makes me a little sad. He captured a big audience in gospel rap, carved his own niche, and moved on. I wish you the best, and I will always be a fan. God is doing amazing things through you, so let the trap say amen. -Caleb

S/O to Lecrae for reaching out to the streets. The hate is real when you do what God created you to do. Even Jesus went to the streets, it wasn’t through music but through talk and preaching. He didn’t go to the church he went out into the streets where people needed hope. The new testiment just shows he perspective of how his inner circle (12 disciples) should walk out their life. Jesus Love a perfect life to set the bar. I say lecrae is being led the best way he can. He’s not perfect but his mission and fruit of his life is testimony to the music he makes. Also lecrae is not trying to be the savior of the church or the world, he simply wants people who look at him at some point look and turn their lives to the only person that can change it. He just used music, connections, and his platform to do it. It’s not even so much the music that most important part. It’s the actual life when the music stops. He’s not talking about it and not doing it. He is talking about it and more importantly doing it. At the end of the day what it should be for us is an example that when you truly put God first and walk it out, you can use the talents you’ve been given to shine he light back to God specifically with your lifestyle! Not just your talents!

I like what Lecrae is doing as a Christian we think we’re exclusive and not supposed to “tap” into the “world” as somebody said in the comments. The problem with that thinking is what’s keeping people outside churches. We were meant to break barriers. Lately people think the Gospel is who sings the prettiest inside church or who speaks the most tongues. Y’all wanna be so spiritual when there’s people dying outside just waiting on a simple message of who Jesus is.

Blk Palms yes this is true, if people read their bibles they would have read Mark 2:16-17 which says, And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eating with the tax collectors and sinners, they said to His disciples, “How is it that He eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?” When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

I appreciate your comments and what you are saying is the truth about needing Jesus Christ to save you. I'm from South Africa and we are exposed mostly on mainstream hip hop here. Before I had Lecrae's songs I listened to all the mainstream artists until I came across J. Cole. J.Cole was exposing the demons in the game and He would barely mention the Lord but he managed to deliver the truth about the game and from there I left the hip hop scene but I needed a saviour so I prayed and got converted then I came across artists like Lecrae, KB, Eshon etc.. James 1:17 "Everything good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows" .. I don't condone what Lecrea is doing but what he is doing now is what made me to seek the Lord. I hope you understand and God bless

I wish songs were out like this when I was growing up. Some many of my peers and even men in my family got caught in this lifestyle. They went to prison😢. These are conversations the body of Christ need to talk about with our youth. Young people and adults really be going through it in life. Sometimes the saints cover their eyes to things they don't feel comfortable taking about espcially if it is not chruchy talk. God is changing that by using people who are not afraid to talk about it.
