This video is part of a 28-lecture graduate-level course titled "Organic Spectroscopy" taught at UC Irvine by Professor James S. Nowick. The course covers infrared (IR) spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, the latter of which is the main focus. Topics covered in the NMR spectroscopy part of the course include chemical shifts, spin-spin coupling, dynamic effects in NMR spectroscopy, and 2D NMR spectroscopy (COSY, HMQC, HMBC, TOCSY, NOESY, ROESY).
Any questions or concerns regarding this class, please e-mail: jsnowick at uci.edu.

Thank you so much for posting these lectures. Not only are they really well delivered and thorough, it's inspiring to see people who selflessly share their knowledge with others.

Thank you very much Prof. Nowick. I did not realize that such people like you who know sooooo much even exist :-). You are so generous by putting you years of research for free in the Internet.

Jon Stossel's little brother is an NMR genius?@#! Ok, all funny business aside, one of the THE BEST lectures i have ever heard in a graduate chem class. Please, PLEASE upload anything more. If even it's just you lecturing without the class. Top notch. Mark Kinch PhD synthetic organic chemist. UIC

Dear Professor Nowick--I got my Phd four years ago in a solid-state NMR lab from UnivFlorida. Since then due to personal issues I had to leave the country to be with family in india making me "out of the loop" Watching your lectures has been such a wonderful experience personally--as topics are still very much new to biochemists/chemical biologists like myself. Thank you once again---this series will help me once I get back in the swing of things-respectfully-mst3jay

Before this,i thought there is only one Professor S. P. Dhoubhadel who deserve organic chemistry well but after watching your videos i am pleased and conclude that Professor James S. Nowick deserve better than Prof. Dhoubhadel. At last expect more videos from you. thank you!

These are great lectures! Do you find that the video taping helps your students? Is there a noticeable change in their grades? I trying to convince one of our professors to videotape their lectures and if students preformed better she would be more eager to try it out.

Excuse me , Why do we suppose accidental overlap of signals is much more common in 1H NMR than in 13C NMR ?
