Hey everybody! This is Dr. Maples. I'm glad to be chatting with you today about the origins of sociology! Sociology is one of those rare fields that can directly explain how and why it came to be. Today we will go through the early historical events which led to Auguste Comte's founding of sociology as a field interested in reflecting on the past, explaining the present, and predicting the future.
Btw, Pay no attention to the fact I misspelled Auguste Comte's name in the lecture. It's a freaky name lol.
