Hello sir. I'm really impressed by the way you teach. The animations in the slides made me understand the concepts visually. Can you please let me know the tools that you use for creating the animations?

This lecture was creates solely with MATLAB. I am revising these notes right now and will be including some addition content. Some of the new visualizations were created with Blender.

I should have watched this series before I started my Master's degree.

Thank you, very well explained and at a comfortable speed. One question: @ 16:30, in the example you have phase constant beta=60, but if you are operating at 4GHz, which in free space has 7.5cm wavelength, but based on beta=2*pi/wavelength and plug in 60, you get a wavelength on the line of 10.5cm, which is longer than free space wavelength and can't be physical. Am I missing anything?

Michael Love I probably just made up the numbers for the examples without giving this much thought. In metallic waveguides, this can happen easily. For transmission lines, probably not unless there is something exotic about it.

How the Zin = j1.07 × 10^3 came..? I did solved through calculator but the answer came 1.32625 j .. (19:26)

I repeated the calculation several times and I am getting the same answer as in the slides. Is your calculator in degrees or radians mode? Maybe that is the problem?

Why we don't take into consideration the mismatch between the Antenna impedance and the free space impedance?
@empossible1577

This analysis is happening from the perspective of the generator and transmission line. The only thing those see is the input impedance of the antenna. Typically when an antenna is simulated, the input impedance is accounting for matching to air. In fact, some define antennas simply as an impedance matching network between a transmission line and air.
