The best introduction into QM. It becomes easy to see how QM will remain illusive, and we will remain ignorant of divine design.

Everywhere else on the web, the same theories Krishnan Sir professes is written down in language far away from the understanding of a layman. But the lectures by this man are a great help to even a high school aspirant!

In phase space we start with a fuzzy blob but that blob is not totally random, the use of Probability Or probability distribution Tanslate to physical reality, without probability theory and use of Hilbert space the blob will become truly random and then it will show true chaos The blob in hilbert space will evolve and at later time give second set of blob, so yes there will not be direct one to one correspondence between consecutive observation but still some finite correspondence can be attributed.
@aashigupta8525

So the use of Hilbert space and probability function , we are Restricting ourselves from true random chaotic nature

The true randomness even beyond uncertainty principle comes from the actual description of what experiment or observation is? What is the definition of experiment?

One more question, sir. Understanding that the real numbers are just as much a construct as the complex numbers or other systems like for example the non standard real numbers, why does one only consider operators with real eigenvalues?

Thank you, sir, for your wonderful lecture! I would like to know the thinking leading to the statement that the eigenvalues are the measurements. It seems odd to say this with no tangible evidence to support it. Anyone's insights are appreciated.

Could there be a state of the system where the eigen vectors of an operator form the o-n basis set and the coefficients of the basis vectors, when the state vector is expanded in this basis set, are also the original real eigen values of the operator?

Quantum mechanics uses classical mechanics rules only probability of the electron place and it's wave nature is derived through schorindinger equation and spin and angularmomentum of revolution classical mechanics rules are used notation is changed Bra ket like sans krit mantras to confuse students as foreign words as it is done in Sanskrit.

there is a lecture this same prof. Balakrishnan gave where at the first 20 mins of the lecture, he explained why quantum mechanics doesn't appear intuitive to us. he explained that it is because we evolved in the middledimensions. can anyone give me a link to that?

When he says," means when the system is in the state psi it is actually is in phi." So does this means that the system is in 2 states(phi(n) and psi)
@VaibhavSingh-dq9kr
@VaibhavSingh-dq9kr 3 жыл бұрын
| phi > is one of the eigenstates of the | psi > for a given operator A. Actually, | psi> is linear combination of orthonormal basis set (states) | phi>. So, when we say < phi | psi >, what we actually mean is that how much of | psi > is along | phi > and < phi | psi > is the probability amplitude of that. And square of that probability amplitude gives the probability that the for a given state | psi > is in eigenstate | phi >.

@@VaibhavSingh-dq9kr what is prerequisite for this lecture?
@VaibhavSingh-dq9kr
@VaibhavSingh-dq9kr 2 жыл бұрын
@@powerentertainment719 for this particular course, i would say linear algebra is a must although he covers a bit in early lectures but that's not sufficient if you are new to linear algebra. Also know your classical physics, especially electrodynamics. Don't take this as your first course in QM. After you have done a more basic course in QM in your college, then come to it, you will be blown away. These lectures provide outstanding insights and fill the gaps in your understanding.
