As someone that has loved history for decades it is refreshing to hear someone say " I don't know". Wish more were like that.

There are many of us with native ancestry handed down from people that lived during the early 1900's that when researching ancestry we hit a dead zone around 1850. Knowing that many tribes from Virginia to the Mississippi mixed with whites in earlier times, I can't help but imagine that many mixed bloods seen the writing on the wall and just blended in with their white families.

Any recommendations on where to get more accurate information

My recommendation is that you learn from the Cherokee people. The Cherokee Nation in particular has their own KZbin channel and produces lots of videos on tribal history.

The Iroquois were of the Algonquian Language Family. When I listen to Cherokee as it’s spoken, it sounds different to me than the Blackfoot language. I would like to know more about this.

When I started looking for my native ancestors that were all 3 cherokee I found nothing on the line said but found on married in lines not suspected. At this time my closest connections to the Cherokee are Keziah Vann and Fereby Benton. Both controversial. Did find Muncie and Potawomack though but way back.

Georgia since the 1990's, has taught all about Worcester vs Georgia and the Trail of Tears in Georgia History. I have Cherokee ancestors and ancestors who benefited from Cherokee removal (Cherokee Land Lottery). Us descendants have our own State Tribe Georgia Tribe of Eastern Cherokee or just Georgia Cherokees. Our Founder and Chief is related to the EBCI Chief. Both are surnamed Sneed for instance.

This is really sad. Its just as bad as when I was in school. Do not teach something you do not know. Bring in a tsalagi speaker. We are not extinct creatures. We are people.
