PAC had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Jeffery Gerber PhD from Purdue Physics and Astronomy for a lecture on his research on "Low-mass Stellar Evolution and Non-canonical Mixing on the Red Giant Branch." During this presentation, which is tailored to both beginners in astronomy as well as experts, he explains perplexing ratios of various chemical elements within the spectra of red giant stars and the implications of these counter-intuitive findings.
