Right on time. I had some serious work done on my '92 euro-spec W124 300 TD Turbo, including the replacement of the bulbs inside the instrument cluster. But I chose to go with incandescent again since I have my doubts about the durability of most of the LED bulb I can get my hands on. The thing is that it's a pain to remove the instrument cluster with the speedometer cable, and the less I have to take it apart, the better. I had the dimmer switch changed as well, it was quite oxidized. But I did find some excellent C5R warm white bulbs for the sill lights under the doors, they look great, and are easy to access. Same for the license plate, it looks super neat, much more than cool white.

Thank you Kent for sharing your research and vast knowledge with the world. Please consider shipping your bulbs overseas as the confidence I have in your experimentation would more than offset the increased shipping costs that I would pay for the bulbs in the UK. Many thanks Ian Chater.

The problem we are faced with right now is with the cost of the extra paper work and increased shipping charges it costs us about $40 to ship even the smallest packet to Europe and people just can't understand why shipping is more than the part - and they get mad at us!!!

Very interesting info Kent. I have a 124 and would like to swap out the old dim lights but have a hell of a time sourcing them up here in Canada. I will wait till your next video when you narrow down the choices.

Very interesting, Kent. I have a set of your earliest ones (polarity sensitive warm white) in my C126 and they're an improvement on the incandescents. But when you settle on your new recommendation (warm white or even that orange), I'll be lining up for those.

I did convert my 75' 450SL to LED instrument cluster lights at one point. You are correct in that there is no off the shelf LED in that size, so I ended up soldering a resistor to one leg of a 2mm Tower LED and installed them on the ends of the stalks, they're not any bigger than the bulbs and I trimmed the leads of the LED and the resistor to fit in the available space. I don't recall if I have any photos of the install, I know I have photos of the instrument cluster lights being bright as an after picture. I may try this again on my 88' 560SL and take pictures this time of the process.

Greetings Kent! Again your series of videos is by far the most enjoyable and through to watch. While not a Mercedes owner (however I believe that is about to change soon) I have a question. Where do you procure your green technician gloves? I am always frustrated with the disposable mechanic nitrile gloves. If these are on your website I will be sure to order. Tha ks!!!

Hi Kent. Nice video! Will you be selling LED dash lights for the w210 chassis? I have a 2001 e320 wagon and would like to fix burnt out dash lights. Thanks in advance.

County/country roads are terrible. So many jacked up pickups with bright lights. And so many drive with their fog lights on. Fog lights that are not aimed properly.

Randy, I am with you totally and each year it is getting worse, especially with big pickup trunks. The lights are getting more white and have so much dazzle it makes my brain rattle! I have gone to wearing orange glasses as well as using a cut back orange visor that double blocks the oncoming lights in the left lane.
