Been using mine for well over a year now. Good design, probably the best I've seen for something you have to wear on your head for a whole day, every day. The light output is very good, and the angle changing head is most excellent. Drawbacks however. . . The headband NEEDS to be changeable. NEEDS! to be. Imagine wearing a great pair of trousers all day, everyday. How do you think they'll smell after a month? two. Well, they'd rinkdydink is what they'd do. So. . . easily changeable elastic headband please. The round button thing on the back either needs to go to be re-designed in such a way that it can't be accidentally hit when working in places like under a kitchen cabinet or in a confined space. Without proper access to your hands, the light will often switch off when this happens and it is a dangerous thing to happen. . . and annoying af. So, new design for the button please. The rotary dial feature to control brightness is actually a really useful feature that gets used much more than you'd think. Some of the other controls though, like setting constant current or voltage should really be done with a slide switch somewhere, maybe even inside the battery compartment, because some of the features are just to involved to be able to know all of the time. This is like the third time I've had to google 'ledlenser instructions' just to find out how to change some setting or another. So, more slide switches, less mystical dungeons and dragons just to change some settings please. Thank you for the this awesome product, and for taking the time to read this. Carry on

+w Thanks. I did also get a reply to my email. Since the headlight was working fine although those wires had been cut, I figured that there was no problem. I'm really pleased with this ingenious device.

I constantly find my headlamp with the red light turned on in my bag/backpack, and the battery often drained because of it. Is there any way to disable the red light being turned on?

Useful demo but the backing track is horrible and makes it very hard to concentrate on the given instructions. Just talk, next time time, please. :-)

This flashlight offers 300lumens only in boost mode and only for a few seconds. I cant use these 300lumens for as long as i want and ledlenser doesnt refer to that clearly so everyone to know. Thats a downside trap for me. Also i cant disable the back light on the reel so it doesn't turn on accidentally something that happens often when I put my hat on.is there a way that i don't know?

I got one but it takes 4 aaa batteries and I put new high alkaline/power output ones in and after 20 minutes the torch went flat. I thought maybe the batteries were dud but its happened for the past week since I got it

I just got one as a Xmas gift. When unboxing, really when removing it from its plastic cover, I snipped two thin wires, red and black, but the headlamp seems to work fine. A marvelous device. What were the wires for? They come out of the battery box. When I cut them, thinking they were rubber bands, they gave off an electric flash. I have watched several reviews and unboxing videos but none of the headlamps featured had these weird wires. I sent email to ledlenserusa, but there has been no response. I guess they have more important things to do than to answer customers' emails.

hi frank i think you had a package with the "test it" function on it? so you can test the headlight while still in the package. if so no worries you just disconnected the wires from the battery pack to the package switch.

@@hrcivic Mine turned out to be a faulty unit and the charging connection was slightly loose ,apparently a common fault. Led lenses couldn’t replace as the unit was discontinued, now replacing with the hr7 core ,which apparently is a way better unit

@@andybyrne50 I bought a second one for my brother 7days ago with the same 7year guarantee as mine which i bought 3years ago. I dont believe that the product its discontinued. At least in service matters spare parts should be available from the company for the 7year guarantee.

@@hrcivic I had an email direct from Led ,that they are discontinuing this unit and have replaced it with the Hr7 core. Yes,they will still honour the guarantee,as stocks still available to buy in shops. The guarantee is honoured by replacing with a better unit and a more powerful one. I have dealt with Led directly with this matter and to be fair they’ve been excellent.

@@andybyrne50 useful information, thank you.. Now about the hr7 its a good one but i dont like it because of the battery type(shorter duration) and because i cant use it with alkaline batteries in case i need to. Anyways is good that they offer a replacement in the guarantee

So over programmed it's ridiculous. Are you kidding me, it's a work lamp for Pete's sake.
