Thanks. I used the 4 strips of the amber lights you recommended. It indeed works but even with 4 strips it's not as vibrant as the OEM LEDs. What astounds me is that Gibson Living sells these but doesn't respond to inquiries about where to get the original LED strip. I also question why an under used LED strip would go out after so little time.

No kidding… I was surprised as well that there aren’t any replacements for them!! I’m glad you were able to fix it but you’re right… it’s not as bright.

Thank you so much. It worked for my electric fireplace in my TV cabinet. It had no manufacture name or any instructions. In fact it said to not remove back as there were no serviceable parts. I was going to have to buy a new one and this was only 18 months old and rarely used.

You are so welcome! Yes, mine had the same label on it but I knew that was the only way to get to the lights so I did it anyway lol!! I’m glad I did because I was able to fix mine and in turn help others fix theirs! I’m so glad this helped you!!

Thanks for posting this! How did you wire it?
@stacyblalock82852 жыл бұрын
I think part 1 explains that better but after determining which went with red and black, I spliced them together. I just pulled off some of the protective coating to expose the wires, then twist both ends of the wires together and then wrap in electrical tape. This essentially makes the 2 wires into 1 so the flow of electricity is continuous. Hope that helps you!

How many LED strips did you connect on your fireplace? I can't tell if its one or two. My fireplace is much wider on size and the LED strips I bought are the same as yours (not so long 8pcs) im trying figure out how to connect them to each other
@stacyblalock82853 жыл бұрын
I only used one strip, but someone in the comments mentioned they put two together for a brighter flame light. I know that they can be connected together but I’m not sure how they are. Did your strips come with any instructions that mention connecting them?

Stacy thank you for your video! question, the LED lights you used (recommended below) are 12v, but my fireplace plugs into 110v (plugs into outlet behind fireplace) will they still work? maybe they are converted from 110 to 12v at the circuit board? my fireplace looks exactly as your does and like yours the led lights just stopped working.
@stacyblalock77264 жыл бұрын
Mine also plugs into a regular outlet, so I do believe that it is converted probably at that input location at the top main board.

@@stacyblalock7726 thanks, i was impatient and had already ordered the lights you recommended and it worked!! The dealer said, I had to replace the whole fireplace, but I knew better. So for 10 bucks and 25 mins of my time I fixed the thing and it looks and works great now. One change is I wired 2 of those LED strips together and put them side by side for a brighter effect. Thank you, your video was the only one that not only matched my situation, but your FP looked exactly as mine. Thank you for taking the time to make the video it was a tremendous help. God bless!

What brand of led lights did you use that you got from Amazon?
Congratulations. Does it have to be orange lights? What if they're white?!
@stacyblalock82854 жыл бұрын
Frank UNDERWOOD I don’t think it matters what color the lights are, but obviously if you want a more realistic “flame” color, then I would suggest the orange, possibly red.
