Great video and great timing. I am just completing a job and the customer want an Ip rated LED tape to sit underneath the lip of paving slabs on their patio. I will definitely be looking at Penn Elcom website to help source this. 😀

Top Tips! I thought the soldering iron was gong to have some sort of lever to bring the tip down to the bench top.

For people without one of these stands, if you learn to hold your solder between your 2nd and 3rd finger of your non-dominant hand, then whatever you're soldering between your thumb and pointer finger of the same hand.. you can hold your soldering iron with your dominant hand and it will be faster than you could ever believe. You also won't need to use any clips, stands, etc. I thought it would be difficult because I'm not very coordinated, but I got used to it very quickly. It also helps to keep your solder in a small tube that you can hold in your palm instead of on the roll. Last tip would be to use some 4:1 heat shrink tubing with adhesive on the inside

Love the third arm soldering iron tip. Up to now I've been using a thin board and a couple of clothes pegs. Very high tech!! Can they design a head band soldering iron holder for those in situ' installations.

Have used Penn Elcom for years when i was in the sound and lighting install game .. Absolute fantastic company to deal with .. already built my 3rd hand :) out of curiosity what size solder was they using 0.5 or 0.7? should have asked them to show you how to terminate an 8core 4mm NL8

Similar to the 3rd arm, try a Milwaukee m12 soldering iron/gun but with a 4/6ah battery, the battery makes a great stand.

Is that 415° Fahrenheit or Celsius? If I had to guess, I'd say Celsius, since you solder pretty fast.

How did he managed to push in that end cap when there was a peace of led tape in the way? I usually have to consider lenght of end cap to determine right lenght of led tape for aluminum profile.

Most likely the design of the end cap allows it to be pushed in after the LED strip is in place. If not then we cut the end caps at the right angles to make them fit!

Huh? I just lay the strip down with a weight if necessary and solder onto it. Your better off with a proper weller soldering pencil and your fingers well away from the tip. That's my hot top tip
Don't cut your LED strip here!
