how does it differ from dmx and spi decoder. i watch video of dmx demo videos and its seems can do also lots of effects and much cheaper and doesnt needs special software, anyway im just new and trying to learn all about led stuff. thnx

Well that's a broad question. The software is great if you want to create your own light effects. But if you just need some kind of "player", you can use just hardware devices allowing control of digital LED pixels (like this one: ledstripstudio.com/spi-led-controller/). Anyway, for the software you still need some "decoder", or better say ArtNet to SPI digital LED controller (e.g. like this one: ledstripstudio.com/spi-matrix/).

You can try the software for free and also you can create content and mapping for free. Also in case you use small LSS SPI controller, you can create SD-card files for free.
