Thank you for your advice. I spent about three hours, using the white wire as a ground and could not figure out what was going on. I truly appreciate you buddy.

Would have been nice to know WHOCH color trailer light goes with the res white and black!!! You never said which goes to which!!!
@RickydelaVega-s2g6 күн бұрын
The LED lights I have are red, green, black leads coming out of the trailer light, I think the black goes to white, Green goes to brown and red goes to green on one side and to yellow on the other.

How are the wires connected? Red to what color and White to what color?
@1ghosthorse4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I opened my lights tonight assuming they would have standard wiring. Alas, they both have red, black, & green. I will try the battery test.

So do you wire the white and red together then?
@stevefrost87892 жыл бұрын
i was looking into buying some similar to these from amazon.. 3 wires.. they claim to do turn signal. brakes and running lights.. how is that going to work.. normaly its 4 wires
@davidyummus62592 жыл бұрын
The lights have just 2 functions,... A moderate or low light for running lights then a brighter light fir brakes & that brighter brake light gets a broken signal from the car to flash for turn signals. Low light for running, bright light for brakes & turns
@jamestabisz35095 жыл бұрын
Wrong. White is ground, black is running, red is brake on the LEDs I got.

Not on the lights I bought.

I have to agree with James Tabisz. I bought some LED's and the set up is the same as what James stated.

@@davidyummus6259 I think I have to ground the white wire to the back of the light.
@chadjohnson5917 Жыл бұрын
You need to state what wires connects to what wire.
@davidyummus6259 Жыл бұрын
I can't because Wires vary with different Lights & Trailers,... That's why I mentioned which wires on my lights did which function.
@chadjohnson5917 Жыл бұрын
@davidyummus6259 but most common trailer wires has green/brown on the starboard side and yellow/brown on the port with the white wire on the light as it's ground
@davidyummus6259 Жыл бұрын
@@chadjohnson5917 Well, if Brown runs down both sides of the Trailer then the Brown Wire would be for Running Lights & the Green & Yellow would be for Brake/Turn Signals being the brighter light :) You now have your answer ;)
@davidyummus6259 Жыл бұрын
@@chadjohnson5917 I still have the trailer with same Lights but the wiring is taped up so I can't see the wires but,... If you have Brown wire running down both sides of the Trailer then they "should" be for Running Lights which is the softer or lower light which means the White wire on the Lights "should" go to the Brown on either side, the Red wire on the Lights "should" go to the Green on passenger side of Trailer or Red to Yellow on Driver side of Trailer. Black on Lights to Ground. Test the wires on your lights with a battery to know exactly which wire does what function,... Mine in the video was: Black to Negative battery then one at a time, touch Red wire to Positive terminal, then White to Positive terminal,... The low light is Running Lights & Turns, the Bright Light is Brakes.

NO ! Why the f*** do u think I made the video ? As I said, these were cheap lights made in China & they dont give a crap about what we do or need in America ! I just rewired the trailer, kept the same lights & reviewed this video to check & it stands correct for MY lights !
