krayzie soulja I love those people! I can flash them with no fear of retaliation! I remember when I first tried HIDs not being able to flash people who flashed me. But then, I’m running an HID projector retrofit now that has hi/low mode so....people don’t flash me anymore, and my lights don’t have to be aimed at the ground anymore :)

I been having 55w hid 5k in my car for 10 years and just last week one of my ballast started to act up it turns on but have to switch on and off 3 or 4 times for it to stay on, on my truck I have gone through 5 pairs of LEDs in the last 6 years. Also the hids give more down the road light than LEDs

@@Mr.boxxchevy LED are more directional, you are right. If the LED comes with the fan as it normally does it should be checked its working otherwise will get too warm, shorten the life and so on. Also LED if the power to it is slightly out it does reduce the life. LED lights are not all they seem. HID etc are more 'natural' its gas afterall just like in real life :)

Down side to leds is they don’t get everything to reflect like hids do. Personal preference is hid lows with led high and fogs. Best of both worlds so long as your lows don’t kick off when you turn on the highs like some do.

Honestly I bought some Kensuns and installed them with my Hyundai it was a pain in the ass to install and they get so damn hot. One bulb doesn't match the other cool white color and it appears more dim. I always had flickering problems. Just my experience ordered some high quality luxury leds so I'll be trying those. Stoked. Plus installation is just a plus and play and maybe connecting a anti flicker module 👌🏽

That's a bad led making a bad beam pattern. That will blind on coming drivers. The hid has a better beam pattern and that hot spot is how it's suppose to be. Best way to learn about beam patterns visit headlight revolution KZbin channel. They show good beam patterns and how good led lights have gotten and how they perform in different headlight housings. I learned alot there if I could I'd remove my factory 03 is300 hid for led.

I learned you not supposed to put HID lights in halogen housings. All the people that were blinking their headlights at me took me a while to figure it out....HID scattered the light all over the place all in folks faces. So went with a silverstar halogen bulb. Not as bright but focuses the light where its supposed to be.

Consider led lose 10-15% after they get hot wich is some time later , also they tend to loose light from geting old to quickly so we talk about effective 75% light output after a couple of months specially on cheap leds and cob cree like those you use , from the other hand HIDs at 50 bucks (like m-tech) tend to keep their light output over than 90% in a year, also on projectors you have no hot spot wich lights up the road far from your car where you need light and is gonna miss from there, lighting more the side of the road doesnt give you any visibility, the hot spot you see in the wall is the light beam pattern ahead where you need it.

Hid nor led in a halogen "projector" housing your light isn't focused in the center it's all scattered around. ITR headlights are halogen projectors where you don't have a hotspot or cutoff line With aftermarket retrofit projectors you have a sharp cutoff line and center focus point for the hotspot and your lights don't fade off at the edges.

The HID kit you use is cheap... Cheap DC ballast and cheap bulbs... That's why the look turquoise in 6000k because they are underpowered... One thing i learned doing my research about HID. I bought a set of AC ballasts(they light up very fast compared to the ones on the video) and a pair of cheap bulbs but better quality than other China made bulbs... A few days before one of the ballasts died so i feel like moving to LED. I ordered the regular S2 LED H11 type.

Here's my experience the problem with the LED ones is that you gotta get the ones without fans and with a heat sink or something bc if the fans go out you're screwed. Also almost all LED kits aren't nearly as bright as HIDs. But to me LEDs look better and I don't need extreme light. HIDs provide extreme light. I have some BeamTech LEDs in my Nissan truck and they're amazing. Probably the best cheap LED kit you can buy. No fans and they gave a good light pattern for only 35 bucks.

Depends on temp. 3k is yellow, 5k is pure white, 6k is brilliant white (slight blue tint), 8k is ice blue, 10k is the deep blue. Beyond that you get into the purples

You know you are using one of the worse LED design? not to mention the chip as well. An that HID kit looks worse then those 20$ eBay kits.

I had both hid's and leds and the warm up time wasn't a big deal the only problem with hids is there is. Large ballasts to hide and one of my hid's burnt out i, I do like the color of hid but I have leds and perfer led they are better for my car application.

Those HIDs are taking too long to get to brightness; they should take no more than 6 seconds to get up to brightness from cold start. In addition, The HID bulb is not configured to the projector housing, as the spread of light would be even across the spread. HID lights are proven to be brighter in general and at a distance; LED bulbs should be mated with the correct headlight housing.

I hate my HIDs. They come stock with my wrx sti and its leaving stress cracks and heat marks on my headlight lense. Anyone knows of any bulb brands that stop this as im planning to replace my headlight unit.

So I have HID 35W 4.3K for my dims currently. They work really well infact but they run none stop even when brights are on the low beams stay on... But my brights gain no visibility which makes them completely useless I'm basically on low beams constantly. If I convert my headlights and put in HID for brights will they come on full strength much faster after they are warmed up? For instance I drive all rural and meet a car every 20 miles or so. When I dim my lights for the one car then turn my brights back on will it be nearly instant full brightness or will it take 10 seconds again like the first time turning them on?

@@johnmadsen37 I thought about that but no where to really mount them. And as far as getting better distance for view over my dims I'm not sure what I can get other than HID. Sure and LED light bar would widen my view but not so much distance, and still have an issue with having a place to mount something like that. Any suggestions on lights that are compact enough to mount on a sports car and still offer great range of lighting?

how about the fact that LED make a lot of heat ? in some cases people got their headlights melted . I don`t think this cheap LED are a good alternative for HID ... Xenon is the best as an aftermarket alternative to halogen
