The info that Bulb Facts has on them is pretty helpful but not exactly conclusive as they didn't test it against some of the previously mentioned bulbs.

As others have said, fantastic method and application, well done, and much appreciated. Two things I'd mention. Cars don't run at 12v, as I'm sure you know, so real wattage should be measured with a voltage around 13.8v. This will affect the Halogen output massively. Other thing is that if (like me with my Nissan Leaf and it's LED dipped beam) you are only looking for a high beam solution then all of this worry about beam cut-off is quite irrelevant. I am of course in a tiny minority created by the crazy engineering of Nissan, but just thought I' mention it. Again, much respect for the thoroughness application and friendly presentation... Often sorely missing on the tube.

But if you're suggesting that you'd bet any amount of money that headlights receive a nice regulated 12V, well than I'll take that bet. Of course they don't. Still the most thorough lighting test on KZbin yet. I prefer the ToAuto in a high beam reflector for the way it fills the road scape to the very edges like the others cannot. High beams are never used aimed against oncoming traffic anyway. It may even match stock alignment better in my high beam reflector rather than the one tested.
@ndc5544p4 жыл бұрын
You should measure the power output at running voltage. While the car is running the voltage in the system is anywhere from 13V to 14V. It may be higher like 14,4V or lower like 12,8V. I checked a few and it doesn't add up to the rated spec (Osram for example). It's important to note though that the max brightness may also be limited by the available voltage, also the life span. So yeah, the best testing measure would be at something like 13,5V. That aside, as usual, very very good tests! Keep up the good work!

You're right with the importance of correct focus. If those 360° degree leds had better focus, they maybe could be used into separate high beams, like H3 or H1, where you basically use them on full blast for short periods of time 😉 I wan thinking about this - tried 2 sided led in the high beams and they were dimmer than halogens...

Great test! One of the most comprehensive test regiments out there! I would suggest for future tests that the orientation of the bulbs as they are installed within the reflector/projectors, should be taken into consideration. Particularly the bulbs using chips on two opposite sides. Projectors, despite their name, do use a reflector to collect and direct light through the lens and the direction the chips happen to face when installed could potentially make a significant difference in beam patterns, overall performance and ultimately test results. I look forward to more from your channel! Especially with Chinese products since they are exceptionally less expensive. Thank you! Really... thank you for your work and tests!! Very helpful!

They are not the same bulbs as you stated nor do they come from the same manufacture. In addition the GTR ultra 2 bulbs are manufactured and built with extreme high-quality, fit and finish and the ability to adjust the beam pattern by turning the bulb in a bearing sleeve that allows for optimum sharp cut off beam pattern. The GTR bulbs were also much much brighter. My suggestion and constructive feedback, would be for you to actually have the bulbs in your hand where you can actually experience what I have experienced instead of making a blanket statement that the bulbs come from the same place and are all the same. Again I appreciate what you’re doing on your channel and hope that this feedback is taken in a positive manner. Thank you

After studying a number (if not all) of the H3 comparison videos, with the goal of replacing the Halogen incandescent elements of HELLA 160 with less current hungry LED based elements, I must add my high compliments for this presentation. Your comparison is by far the (very) best and most scientific comparison and presentation and THE ONLY comparison where critical position of the Halogen element above the mounting plane (18mm, focal point for optics) for H3 is even mentioned. I must still compare space/volume available for any possible LEDs, plus consider thermal rejection to keep LED cool and from going into limiting/dimming, and I welcome any LED based suggestions from you, but even if I find there is no suitable LED option, and must remain with the incandescent version, I will check some of your other videos...I expect they will also be done to a similar very high standard! That's only an issue if the bulbs are poorly designed, improperly installed, or the headlights aren't aimed correctly. Most of the bulbs in this test are cheap crap that I've never even heard of. But even so, you can clearly see in this test how the good quality LEDs don't output much light above the cutoff (especially with projectors). There's nothing inherent about LEDs that make them blinding. Most new cars come with them from the factory. Just don't buy no-name junk and neglect to aim them properly.

Normal voltage in a car is 14.4V when running. That is the optimal/normal charging voltage for a 12V lead-acid battery. So all alternators are set to 14.4V.

Great review, very good evolution from one video to the next. One thing you can measure to see if the light is blinding other drivers is measure the lux outside (above) the light pattern in comparison to the incandescent light bulb.

This was one of the best most detailed reviews I have ever seen and for that I say thank you. I just want to warn others in my experience the Bevinsee although the brightest in this comparison is by no means a bright LED bulb in the real world. These other LED lights in this comparison are just that bad they make it look good. Like most of these cheap LED they give off a whitish blue light that gives the appearance of brightness but you can’t see any further or barely further than a traditional bulb. The best cheap bulb I have found so far for me has been the Aukee 18000lm. This bulb is truly amazingly bright though it also has issues like radio interference (which ferret coils fix) and a slight hot spot. They lasted me over a year before one is intermittently failing. I just tried replacing them with this Bevinsee and also a Cougar Motor 20000lm bulb. Both came up short though the Cougar Motor bulb was decent unlike the Bevinsee which was on the lower end of cheap bulbs I have used. Again great review and thank you for taking the time with the bulbs you had to make it. You truly are skilled at making reviews.

You are making the wrong ads. People lie by the number of lumens in cheap Chinese lamps that have no accurate information. Do you have any idea what lighting 18000lm offers? 18000 lumens will have helicopter projectors so do not deceive people with wrong ads.

@@GSyziu oh I know they lie about Chinese lights but the lights I listed I am telling you are super bright and shine super far no matter what the actual lumens are. You can easily shine fields for dear like a spot light. When I say 18000lm that is 9000lm a bulb not 18000lm each. They may actually be 9000lm each.
