I use to not be so keen on LED lights. But since i've been seeing them around everywhere lately they are starting to grow on me.

I’ve just built a 50x100’ metal shop. Eave height is 17’, so the lights would be at 15-16’ above concrete floor. Q: Can you configure the space and spec out the fixtures you recommend? Thanks

Great information. I have a 40 x 80 shop with 14ft ceiling, With 4 rolls of 3 T8 4ft lights. Each with 4 T8 LED Light Tube, 4ft, 22W (70W Equivalent). I want to upgrade to LED 5000k lights. To many dark areas. Need brighter lighting, possible something I can dim if needed. Got to be affordable, Can you recommend lights please?

hi there. i would recommend 8 of our 150 watt Corvus series UFO. two rows of four. See the picture of this page of a 40x72 shop with roll up doors; www.ledlightexpert.com/How-many-light-fixtures-do-I-need-for-my-warehouse_b_7.html Very similar to your layout and you can see how bright and even it is with just 8 fixtures. Lights are dimmable and can be seen here; www.ledlightexpert.com/UFO-High-Bay-Light_c_31.html

Built a new shop, 27 deep x 36 wide, ceiling height about 14'. Building is drywalled and painted bright white. I've wired up 2 rows of three round boxes in the ceiling, spaced evenly with the floor plan. So with a 6-light limit, what UFO-style lights do you recommend for bright lighting for a hobby car shop? Thanks!

Hi I need serious help in backlighting for inspection panel. Is it possible use AC plug n play with dimmable feature? On what height should it be to have it in 60mm box?
@LedLightExpert4 жыл бұрын
Not quite sure what you are trying to do as far as backlighting, the best thing I can recommend is to give us a call and speak with one of our lighting experts so we can go over your products and help figure out what will work best for your needs, 800-674-9420. All of our products are direct wire AC, just need to add a plug if you want to simply plug it into a socket. With a dimmable light, you will just need to add a dimmer switch to control the dimming. You can see our video on dimming here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nHfElKBjaraYpck

@@LedLightExpert erm I need to know for backlight in inspection industries, is it possible to use edge lit LEDs and did not have the effects of 'spot' lights? I will cover it with a thick teflon sheet which I hope the lights disperse into one plane.. or else I will need to try the common backlit LED..

Again, I do not quite understand what you are trying to do. We offer LED fixtures, retrofit kits and corn lights, along with some accessories. My best recommendation is for you to give us a call so we can figure out exactly what you are doing to see if it is something we can help you with.

I'm building a 30x60 Garage with 13ft interior ceilings. Wondering what you would suggest for size of lights for that application. It will be used as a work shop so definitely want it nice and bright but dimmable. was thinking 4 rows of 3 lights evenly spaced across the 60 ft Span.
@LedLightExpert4 жыл бұрын
Jordan - At that height I would recommend 2 rows of 4 lights (4 lights long the 60 ft length) and our 100 watt Corvus series - www.ledlightexpert.com/100-Watt-LED-High-Bay-UFO-Corvus-Series-Lights--14500-Lumen--DLC-Premium-Verified--33ft-cord_p_276.html - this should provide plenty of light and the Corvus UFO lights are dimmable and very easy to install.

Building a workshop 50x60 at 16to 18 foot high.. how many do I need and what wattage.
@LedLightExpert4 жыл бұрын
Adam - At that height we would recommend 150 watts like our Corvus Series UFO High Bay Lights: www.ledlightexpert.com/150-Watt-LED-High-Bay-UFO-Corvus-Series-Lights--21000-Lumen--DLC-Premium-Verified--33ft-cord_p_275.html. As for spacing, 3 rows of 4 lights per row would get you good lighting in there. This is a base estimate on what we would start at given the information provided. A few other factors can come into play and going up or down in light count is possible depending on your needs. I would recommend giving us a call and speaking with one of our light experts to go over your project and make sure this will suit your needs, 800-674-9420.

Hello What the rationale against 5700k in favor or 5000k ? Thanks
@LedLightExpert3 жыл бұрын
Color temperature is mostly a matter of preference. Higher Kelvin temperatures usually have a slightly higher lumen output and just feel brighter to our eyes but can also feel more harsh on our eyes. The AMA recommends against the use of lights higher than 5700K so we tend to try to keep below that threshold and have found 5000K is easily the most popular for warehouse and outdoor lighting for a bright clear light without being too harsh on the eyes.

Leave them capped off. Never touching. Just tape them up out of the way. If they are never connected the light will work as a regular on off light

most of these lights are rated for 104-113 degrees i worry they high temps at the roof would easily be higher than that
@LedLightExpert2 жыл бұрын
The Corvus Series and Titan Series we carry from Rugged Grade are rated up to 120F operating temp which is pretty standard for warehouse lighting. If you have temps above that, you may need to think about high temp or explosion proof lights. Feel free to give us a call and speak with one of our light techs to go over your application so we can find the best match for your needs, 800-674-9420.

I dunno if I really like the idea of having to throw away entire light fixtures and rewire it over changing out bulbs.. wish just the actual LED lighting module itself were replaceable and one could get spares to keep put away.
@LedLightExpert2 жыл бұрын
Changing out bulbs is going to happen far more often than you would have to replace anything on a quality LED fixture, like those from Rugged Grade. In many commercial applications, this also means renting a lift just to get up to the fixture adding more to the cost. If you are paying $20 per bulb on a 400W metal halide (common high bay bulb) and it lasts about 15,000 hrs, compare that to an LED fixture that you paid $130 for that lasts over 100,000 hrs, you are going to be replacing 6-7 bulbs in the life of that LED fixture, costing you $120-$140, plus lift rentals which will cost hundreds or thousands depending on the height for all those bulb replacements. Stack that with the fact that over the course of 100,000 hrs, the 150W LED vs the 400W metal halide will save you over $3000 (at a modest $0.12/kWh) in energy costs alone. LED easily wins in both cost and time of maintenance versus swapping out bulbs.
@drasco610842 жыл бұрын
@@LedLightExpert why does it have to be one or the other? I am not talking about the old type of light bulbs, if you read the second part of what I wrote. The industry needs to standardize a new version of light bulbs for these LED fixtures even if it needs to be in a new set of form factors then fine. Unfortunately too many bad quality LED products on the market have made us wary of investing large sums and then having to get an electrician to install it to boot so that the company cannot try to blame us for doing something wrong if it stops working in in 3 years to get out of guaranteeing their bad product with a supposed 5 or 10 year warranty. I do not like the idea of throwing away the entire light fixture when the light goes out. That is just unnecessarily wasteful and should be easily avoidable. The shipping cost and cost of the material going into the hunks of metal containing the actual lights and circuitry surely makes a difference. We can always improve even if it's already better than the old way. And some of us don't have 20 foot high ceilings. We get up on a ladder and change our lights ourselves so there is no real extra equipment expense involved to begin with.

@LedLightExpert5 жыл бұрын
Color temperatures are first and foremost a matter of preference for everyone. With recent warnings by the AMA regarding possible negative effects of lighting higher than 5700K, we don't recommend higher, but there is no problem ordering any specific color temperature. Again, in the end it is a matter of personal preference.
