hey burke great vid dude, I have listend to your advice and started my own channel! I will not be plugging my channel in the comments of YOUR video. OK now what i am sure u wait for in the comments of all your videos; my advice: great idea with the lighting, I wonder who gave you that idea and great idea with giving the audience something to wait for by telling them that u will explain the "tree table" also for one of your videos u should do something involving art as u know me I would be happy to help u some how ( i will further explain at school)

"It's 12:30 in the morning right now..." *Sleep: Am I a joke to you?* another well-executed video! i just don't know how your little workshop adventures are always so satisfying, perhaps it's the way that the video progresses? i can strongly assert that the newly inserted diagram scene, with layering lights over the drawn workshop, really helped to mold my perception of the situation at hand: better than just explanation and a quick tour of the room. such add-on feature may seem unnecessary to some, but it makes each video that much more appealing to watch! similar diagrams were shown in your past videos alongside little acting/animation/video add-ons, to which i hope to see in future videos as well! on the topic of new videos, i would say that it's perfectly fine to take a break once in a while with the uploads. especially if it concerns losing hours of sleep due to filming, editing, teaching, family, etc... the growth of your channel would definitely happen progressively, so i'd suggest not pushing yourself to fatigue for the sake of uploading on schedule, we would understand and still support the channel regardless. quality > quantity. that's all i have to say for now, have a nice evening!

We’re just about done with our basement art studio reno and I’m JUST learning about dotless LED lights! How long do these kinds of light strips last? For my working studio they’d be on for at least 8 hours a day. When they burn out, how complex is it to “change the light bulb”.
@BurkeMakesStuff
@BurkeMakesStuff 2 жыл бұрын
Quite easy. From what I’m seeing online, with any led, you’re looking at around 40,000 hours. Thats around 5,000 days. Or 13.6 years. Now, if that’s entirely accurate, no clue, but that’s what I’m seeing.

Whenever I mount stuff I'm always worried about it pulling through the sheetrock. What's the recommendation? Mollies? Drill into studs?
@BurkeMakesStuff
@BurkeMakesStuff 4 жыл бұрын
David Plass in this instance the lights I used weigh very little, so I literally just drilled into the ceiling’s sheet rock. If you are using heavier ones them I’d def shoot for the studs.

On the first light you hung on the sloped part of the ceiling it appears that you hung it on a slope. The idea of the chain is to be able to hang the light horizontally so you have even light on your surface. If I’m right, just add some longer chain on the high side to make the light level.
@BurkeMakesStuff
@BurkeMakesStuff Жыл бұрын
I eventually did exactly that. At first I thought I’d run them along the slope to leave the headspace open, but it turns out that they are much better closer and parallel to the floor.

Hi Burke! I'm having an issue with the cheap LED lights in my garage causing issues with the video camera. (changing the frame rate doesn't help much...) Have you had any issues with the LED's messing with your video and if so, how did you solve it? Thank you!
@BurkeMakesStuff
@BurkeMakesStuff 8 ай бұрын
Absolutely. It wouldn’t be changing the frame rate of the camera, but what’s happening is that the stroboscopic effect of the lights your using make it look like there is something wrong with you camera, though there isn’t. Led lights flicker in the camera due to the stroboscopic effect. When the video frame rate (FPS) does not match the light frequency at which the LEDs turn on and off per second, the screen starts to flicker. It seems that there is a problem with the screen, even though there is nothing wrong with it. The issue is the lights. That won’t stop. You need to get ones that work with video. The better ones are designed to a deferent frequency that doesn’t show up on camera.

One thing I am curious about is the color temp of the lights. I have seen 4000K and 6000K and I don't know which is best for lighting a workshop.
@BurkeMakesStuff
@BurkeMakesStuff 2 жыл бұрын
Depends on how you want your shop to look/feel. I tend to stay away from cooler lights, as I feel the color they put off is too “sterile” I tend to go for the warmer end of the spectrum.
