This song has a lot of punk feel to it. LZ went into so many different genres of music they refused to be boxed in.

macaholic100 The Damned rocks. Funny, a song that kind of feels like it influenced Communication Breakdown a bit is The Velvet Underground’s Sister Ray, which sounds a bit like a slowed down version of it. I doubt Page heard it at the time, but you never know.

That isn't true. Beatles were doing Helter Skelter in '68 as well. Long Tall Sally from Little Richard, well before that as well. Its just that the electronics were starting to improve at this time for this type of music. Plant's vocal sound came from this guy btw kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqGTm41qd6yoetk

In 1968 The Beatles released a 45 with Revolution, and Hey Jude on the flip side. They also released The White Album with Back in the USSR and While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Sorry Zep fan, but The Beatles are absolutely the last band you want to measure them against.

PHFATT KCOBRA punk isn’t a sound. Punk is a movement that rejects the music before of ones parents. Or of the previous decade. If you noticed that the punk of the late 70s those songs are about two minutes with no solos. We all kind of sound the same. Grunge is the punk music that they rejected from the 80s music
@Decimator-jh4gu

@@TRUMP-2024-STF Communication Breakdown sounds punk to me as far as the speed, power, agression of both vocals and sound. If you know about Punk Rock, you know they also have quick solos and have a plethora of good musicans as well ( even though a good amount of punk bands were also amateurs and just picking up their instruments, too). Punk is a sound that's quite easy to differentente from most genres. It's a compliment I'm giving Led Zeppelin so chill out.
