Back in 73 I was in 10th grade. Had an old '66 Ford Econoline gas company van that I converted to a shagger. Had an 8 track and JBL speakers. have loved this song for years, recently looked it up and found out for the first time that Led Zeppelin actually really disliked this song and got a lot of hate for making it. Supposedly they were jokingly incorporating vaguely Jamaican beats together with '50s doo-wop, and never really meant for this to become an official song. I don't know, I think it's really good, but what do I know! Supposedly the name D'yer Mak'er, when pronounced in an English accent, sounds like "Jamaica." Sounds like angel baby by Rosie and the originals it has a similar chord pattern 🎶 In the liner of their album Houses of the Holy he mentioned something along the lines of “whatever happened to Rosie and the Originals?” Shows how LZ were studens of music before anything🤘
