It is truly unreal the scope and diversity of sound these four guys produce over their discography. Very few bands are so versatile and genre-bending. Every generation has a duty to pass them on to the next! We can’t let the world forget about this kind of music.

One of the all-time great debut albums. You should 100% listen to Led Zeppelin IV if you listen to any more of them- it's got 4 of their biggest hits. Just don't look up what the band did with a baby shark back in the 70s EDIT: Also don't look up what Jimmy Page did with a 14 year old girl back in the 70s

The whole album was recorded in 36 total studio hours. Remarkable. It's a shame so many of the songs on this album failed to credit the original authors. I suspect that's why critics were always so harsh on Zep. And yet it's my favorite Zep album. So raw and powerful. Also their long odysseys are proggish though obviously the lyrics are not.

I know Led Zeppelin IV and Physical Graffiti are usually considered their masterpieces, but this record always has been my favorite Zeppelin record. I love the raw and post-psychedelic era elements on this album. And I honestly love how young and crazy Robert Plant sounds on this album.

Since you’re checking out classic 60’s/70’s albums you absolutely have to react to Blue by Joni Mitchell. Easily my favorite album ever. Unfortunately her music isn’t on Spotify but if you used some other streaming platform or even YT it would definitely be worth it. There aren’t many reaction videos for that album and I’m sure there’s tons of people like me who would love to get to live vicariously through people experiencing Joni’s brilliance for the first time

Please Smags, whenever you do 70's albums, please listen and react to Funhouse by The Stooges 🙏 Game changing rock and proto-punk record But yeah, I'm surprised you liked this one as much as you did. Definitely a super solid debut from Zeppelin. Dazed and Confused and Communication Breakdown especially are bangers in my opinion. Definitely check out Led Zeppelin 4 or Physical Graffiti whenever you listen to more. Their first few albums are great, but these albums are when I find they really started getting into their own artistically. You're a real G for doing a whole week of 60's albums. I really appreciate you for taking the time man. Keep up the great work dude! I'm looking forward to whatever's next! ✌️❤️

Very interesting reaction - I love how you tried to analyze the lyrics and string them together as a cohesive theme. You are mostly spot on but you're missing one element: the Blues. Many of these bands were drawing from Blues songs for their lyrical inspiration and most Blues songs are about women lol

After the single Whole Lotta Love from LZ II, as a young teenager I didn't really find the right access to these blues + soul rock songs, along with the 2 pop rock ones. But when I had more money and rediscovered it, I began to love this, for that time, versatile, blues-oriented album with its unusual, innovative "music journeys" (Dazed...+How...; live very long music improvisation journies, partly 20 minutes; a must to get to know all facets of LZ; e.g. Royal Albert Hall 1970!!!). I have to let myself go and listen consciously in order to notice the subtleties. I can't listen to it while driving in a traffic jam or jogging, similar to LZ III with its partly acoustic songs. LZ II+IV are suitable for the masses and I can be used in any situation for me. I love each one in its own way and don't want to rank them at all. Have a lot of fun on your LZ trip!!! Tip: listen to it several times, it's worth it.

Great reaction, man. I had to decode it, but I was relieved when I realized your "Oh my God!" was a sign of approval, lol! It sounded like you might be being a bit scoffing, like (eye roll) "OMG, I can't believe they're doing THIS in the song right now!" But you were really like "OMG, I can't believe they're DOING this in the song right now!" LOL. Just FYI: It wasn't a "story." Most of the lyrics come from old Blues songs. Like most "British Invaders," these guys worshipped American Blues music. LZ II is the same--only , yes, even BETTER!

I recommend you to listen to three of the most revolutionary albums in history, which are the three from '66, like pet sounds. They are revolver by the Beatles, freak out by Frank Zappa and the mothers of invention and blonde on blonde by Bob Dylan. Leonard Cohen's first album and The Who Sell Out by the Who are also very good, which are from '67. Also if you like Velvet, I recommend listening to any of the Stooges and also The Modern Lovers. Your reactions are great! And the 60s are the best decade, especially between '66 and '69. The 70s are also a great decade, greatly influenced by what was done in those years.

Hey Smags, got a very unknown recommendation for you. A good friend of mine is in a band called Soyboy, and they released their debut album 'Departure' in November 2023. They’re from Newcastle, Australia and describe themselves as Prog-Pop, but have elements of other genres like Post-Punk.
