It's too bad he didn't retain that voice for his entire career with Zeppelin, but they are still the GOAT.
@derekjackson10397 ай бұрын
Yeah it’s crazy how short his voice lasted I think the “zep voice” was 70-72. The first 2 LPs were more his bluesy approach He kinda resurrected that in 75, lower and chesty approach. But couldn’t swing those siren highs anymore well maybe on occasion just not like he did pre 72

I was at this concert. It was the second of 18 times seeing them. This concert was the only time I saw them that clocked in at under 2 1/2 hours. I also recorded this show but my tapes destroyed in a flood unfortunately in the late 90’s. I would blast this concert through my guitar amplifier. Unfortunately I didn’t tape any of the other concerts I went to.

I always wondered how Jimmy Page never died from the heat in that sweater vest. Seems like he wore that every show in 1970. My favorite era of live Zep. Absolutely brutal.

1980 I cut class was heading to the, I think it was ticket tron back then. It was only a few blocks from high school. It would had been my first concert. Over the radio's blaring in the school yard it came over that Bonzo passed. It was devastating to say the least. Plant ended up being my fisrt concert. Plant and Page would be the closest I would come to Zepp! Live Aid was a 💩 show! I thought it was an ok performance not great but leading up to the show was nothing but rumor about who would be there. So if you were not interested in someone there like Flock of Segals at that time you didn't get excited. So again I missed out again. I do think the best time for any kind of reunion was the Page/Plant era especially the second leg of that tour. They got rid of most of the orchestra and it was Plant, Page and Plants band and they were hitting on all cylinders.
