Spot on. I subscribed solely because Boogie Mama from TSRTS is one of my fave Page moments ever. My brain knows it note for note... My fingers are lost though lol

Hopefully, you know about Vanderbilly's lessons for this song. He provides lessons for it. That is how I learned this back in 2007.

Great to see these again. The Vanderbilly website was a go-to for me back in 2007! Do you think you will dig up more of the TSRTS stuff? Your videos were the best for those live Page improvs.

Hey there. So I found a HD with all the old videos, so that is a yes. Starting to slowly add them but there are so many (1,000's) it will take a while. Also plan to add more new videos as I really miss the teaching.

@@vanderbilly This is the best news I've heard in awhile. You & Jun626 both inspired me to re-learn all the Zep I forgot how to play before your site even had 20 videos. You guys provided some great shortcuts to avoid needing to re-learn the songs by ear! I hadn't played for 12 years, but your No Quarter TSRTS solo & Jun's Achilles Last Stand were game changers for me!

This is really great. I was always amazed at this solo in TSRTS, it shows that JP had a deep understanding of BB King style blues; not simple pentatonic scales like sooo many (too many) so-called blues guitarists. BB (and JP) change with the chords. Brilliant work, you nailed it.
@vanderbilly2 жыл бұрын
You nailed it too with a great comment.

You could say the whole band had a feel for that style of blues. Pretty much masters, all of them.

Do you perhaps have the tab transcription for this? I have been trying to work out this masterpiece for years with some luck but mostly dismay. Or do you have another video of it with the guitars neck turned towards the camera more so we's can see those finger placements better? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Awesome work by the way! Keep up the good work.

Glad to see you are back to posting. Vanderbilly.com was the first online guitar song tutorial site I ever found. Preceded youtube guitar for me. I'm not sure what year that was but it was a long time ago. It inspired helped me rationalize buying a '97 JP Les Paul back then. You really made the best zep tutorials. With today's HD webcams and OBS you could redo all those and I'm sure people would flock to your channel. Except that your playing is so good you might get blocked...

Ha! I just revisited this video and saw your note. I should probably make a lesson of this but that part is fundamentally (not technically) pretty simple. He is just repeating a 5 note riff that starts with a 2 note slide, in 3 different places. You might be able to slow the video down to half speed to see what I mean.
