Beautiful reaction. Probably the most epic live performance in rock history. Just when you think it's devolving into chaos, they pull it right back in. So brilliant.

I would never call them raw, unless that means good now. They were ruthless. Classic Led Zepp. Go Jimmy. Jonesy played about 5 instruments. We only had lighters back then, no cellphones. Plants voice is like Jimmie's playing-Magical! Jimmy was so on point when he matched Robert's singing. I was in love with Robert.

I was blessed to see them n 1973 in Atlanta at the stadium. Ok drugs may have been taken but my memory is clear as a bell. Plant standing onstage about 50 feet from me was seriously like being in heaven for there was no man sexier than Robert f’ing Plant onstage, pouting, posing, quivering. Page just killed it that night, his playing was superb. Best night of my life. Annie

This is my favorite Led Zeppelin songs and this is my favorite filmed performance of it. None of their live performances are ever the same - so their songs never sound exactly the same from performance to performance. FYI JPJ is playing organ and carrying the bass line with his feet on bass pedals - awesome!! Hope you'll delve into their live performances like this one - available on bootleg in audio - a whole different world from the studio recordings. Thanks!

Hi Pop... up to this point, Zep was a men thing- men loved the band, women didn't know or care. Here, Robert is 24 and is at the height of his performing/ sensual powers... and women took the 'bait'. This point- right here- Zep became #1 target of groupies (so said Buttercup and Pamela, two of the most famous whose words were carried in Rolling Stone magazine). And it's also the source of the saying, pointing to the screaming women: there wasn't a dry seat in the house! Yeah- I'm old enough to remember...
