Led Zeppelin started in late 1968.. Ruled the 70's. In 1980 the drummer died. The Group disbanded. The 3 remaining Members did a couple of one off stage appearance's using different drummers.. Once in the 80's and then in the late 90's.. They didnt do well.. Then in 2007.. They brought in the original drummers son to fill in for a one night event, full concert. After the announcement for ticket sales... over 20 million request in the first 2 weeks..Broke many records. Drummer - John Bonham Rated #1 rock drummer of all time Bass and Keyboards - John Paul Jones Rated # 4 all time Bassist Guitar - Jimmy Page Rated # 2 all time rock guitarist Vocals and harmonica - Robert Plant Rated #1 front man of rock

Yes, Led Zeppelin knocks it out of the ball park (with every song that they do). Since you are doing a mix of artists, The Righteous Brothers, "Unchained Melody" and "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" for more ultimate love songs. Live, on stage, before auto-tune. I predict that you'll be blown away.

john bonham (RIP) died on September 24 or 25, 1980 from pulmonary aspiration (alcohol). the band called it quits citing that bonzo couldn't be replaced, they have since got back together a few times with bonham's son, jason, filing in for his late father on drums. Every band since has been influenced by zeppelin Queen loved zeppelin, they even used to play zep songs during their sound checks. Plant has even stepped in for freddie at a concert or two singing both queen songs and zep songs.

This is the quintessential Led Zeppelin song. Robert Plant lays it down and sweeps it up. LOL The BBC used an adaptation of this song as the theme to their, 'Top of the Pops', programme for the entire 70's. The mid section always reminds me of Pink Floyd's 'time', from their Dark Side of the Moon, album. (cough... wink, wink.)

"I'm going to give you every inch of my love." is the actual line. You know who was influenced by Zeppelin? Basically every rock band that came after them. They have been called the most influential rock band ever. Beatles were rock but not this type of rock. Kravits did a cover song or two of Zeppelin. Heck, Puff Daddy did a song from the Godzilla soundtrack based off a Zeppelin Song. Kashmir is the Zeppelin song. 'Come with me" was the Puff Daddy song. the Beasties Boys ripped of the the main riff of "The Ocean" for one of their hits. Mary J. Blige did two covers of them. www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=mary+j.+blige+covers+zeppelin Various rap songs have taken elements from zeppelin songs. usually the drums. I mentioned before. Freddie is considered on par with Robert Plant singing wise but the other three members of Zeppelin dwarf the rest of queen as far as respect and prestige goes. Jimmy Page is ALWAYS voted a top 3 or 4 guitarists of all time. John Bonham is Always voted the best drummer and the bassists John Paul Jones is also considered a Goat.
@s1d299

I don't think Brian May gives much away to Page on guitar, really. They are my two favorites in terms of sheer aural bliss, and both are masters at playing for the song. Page is heavier, but May is perhaps smoother. I really couldn't pick between them. Jones is a better musician than Deacon, and Taylor can't match Bonham for drumming, but Taylor has a great voice, and Deacon's playing was always perfect for every song Queen did. Both bands are phenomenal as a whole and every member is excellent at what he does. My hat is forever off to both Queen and Led Zeppelin.

Hi Glenn, thank you for your comment. Theres only 1 thing that you can change is that Jimmy Page is either 2nd or 3rd all time best guitarist in the world. That's if you use Rolling stones magazine as the gospel.. other mags have him 1st or 2nd to me he is the greatest Guitarist in my whole wide world
@christopherone1

@@chrissy3938 me too! there's no one who compares to Jimmy Page, IMO. He's majestic to watch, his entire body moves with his guitar, not to mention the fact that hes fcking gorgeous. The Rain Song, Achilles Last Stand, Kashmir, etc...he wrote the music...like, how? Their songs were all so different...watching Jimmy play acoustic was just beyond. The harmony and compatibility between the members, they truly liked each other, was also beautiful to watch. no one compares to Page, his catalog..as he wrote the music produced and engineered it too. A true genuis. Anyone else is just boring.

He performed Whole Lotta Love in front of Led Zeppelin 2012 you can find it on youtube. Since you said you love guitars, you got to watch Dazed and Confused live version at the Msg, but fair warning it's 28 minutes long. Unfortunately, you're right, there's no music like this no more. Good news, is that there's rivers of good rock written already, with hundreds of great bands that left a great legacy for us and future generations to come. It was an era were bands pushed themselves to prove who was better, different, stretching the boundaries of music and art, for the sake of it, not just the money.

'You Need Love', written by Willie Dixon and recorded by Muddy Waters in 1963, bred this song that was re-arranged from the Dixon one. Zeppelin was sued for plagiarism for it. So if you consider Willie Dixon, Freddy Mercury doesn't enter into it.
