Led Zeppelin ooze sexuality in rock music the band as a unit just worked. Individually they were so talented, but together they just move your soul. I don't think you notice, but if you get a chance to listen to the song through a surround sound or headphones. You will be able to hear the sounds panning out to one speaker to the next. Its is very cool. If get to watch a live performance that weird sound in the middle part of the song. Jimmy used a theremin it's that high pitch screech sound. I glad you are enjoying my favorite all time band.

KIller comment ! Led Zeppelin wrote the book on stage presence, putting their talent into a song and the dynamics of their music - if you listen to their live stuff, particularly their 1977 LA Forum live bootlegs - from June 21st thru June 27th -- the musical dynamics are insane - they can go from a whisper musically to rumbling the rafters of the building to no end ! Oh yes. Plant never lacked for female attention on the road. Ironically, he was one of the most famously married men in rock in the 70's. He was mad about his wife and kids, and had a really settled home life. But on the road things got nuts, and the groupie scene in that decade was legendary. And yeah, he was incredibly attractive (if you like blonds, or white guys, or big swaggering lions). 90% of it was him just deciding he knew what he wanted his image to be and going for it 120%. He was a god because that's the way he carried himself, and the music backed him up! :p~~~
Sounds like a full blown bromance haha. Keep in mind this music is 50 years old Technology very different - no computers, auto tune etc. Epic raw talent

Jimmy Page and Robert Plant go together like bread and butter. There were really any altercations between band members. Everything flowed into the music. I also had Pink Floyd Dark side of the moon. and Deep Purple machine Head in Quad. I actually wore that tape player out listening to those three albums over and over...I also swear heard one of the Beatles say my name ( Bobby ) when listening to Sgt. I've noticed many black folks Love Led Zeppelin, that might be because Zeppelin is a blues-based band, yes its rock music but it's blues rock and black folks are deeply rooted in the Blues. The singer Plant is a blues guy and used quite a few lyrics from some of his influences. That never bothered me but Zeppelin was sued over it quite a few times for not always giving lyric credit where it was due. But honestly it was mostly just on those first couple of albums. As Led Zeppelin albums progressed it became more and more original lyrics. All the music is original too. It's not like the guitarist Jimmy Page stole any riffs from anybody, it was all his. Same with John Bonham and John Paul Jones. I'm saying all this because many people are saying Led Zeppelin stole all their music and it's simply not true

Another thing to note on this song was page's use of the theremin. you can hear it around the 4:00 minute mark on your review, it's responsible for that eerie kind of sound. you can see him playing it on a few of their vids where he's moving his hand up and down and side to side, it consists of two antennas that create a pitch depending on where your hands are at. here's general link en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theremin

This group set the bar extremely high for those that followed after them, they were all that today's music is not, for the most part. There are a rare few today that can even come close. Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa come to mind, Gov't Mule too off the top of my head. Both of which I highly recommend if you have not already. I get excited seeing someone of your generation getting excited about this music I grew up on and kinda took for granted. Talking about swag. I often compared Robert Plant to William Shatner who played the original Captain Kirk on the original Star Trek. I mean Kirk was getting green and blue booty!. LOL. I think Plant could as well. If thats not swag I don't know what is. I was going to say is that most classic rock is the blues on steroids. And your listening to one of the main bands that came up with that formula. Zep and Black Sabbath(Ozzy Osbourne) are the two groups that are given credit for almost inventing classic rock. Jimmy Page, the guitarist and the mastermind behind Zeppelin basically took old blues songs and "borrowed" from them, and rearranged the song into the Zeppelin format. Almost all of their earlier songs are infused with old blues lyrics and guitar licks. Including this one. Not the entire song but bits and pieces. You should check out "In my Time of Dieing." It is an old Blues song about a man on his dieing bed on the way to meet Saint Peter. The slide guitar on that song is amazing. or "Trampled Underfoot." Both songs are off Physical Graffiti. Trampled, is about comparing a woman to a car. The groove on this song is just amazing! I would recommend the live version for both as you get the true energy of the song watching them play. On the live version of Trampled, you can hear Plant say this is their version of the Robert Johnson song "Taripin Blues" from the 1920's. Robert Johnson is an old blues master that no one even heard of until the 1960's when someone found a bunch of his old records in an attic or something. By the way. Zeppelin is super sexual. They oozed sex. Even more so on stage.
