"When the Levee Breaks" is also a wonderful song. It's their interpretation of a 1929 Blues song based on the 1927 Mississippi Flood that killed 500+ people. The worst flood in United States History. A must listen!

Jimmy...great solo’s...great riffs......great improvisational skills.....and also, visually...was a mesmerizing player.....he played with passion and drama...He had signature moves and gestures that were his alone.....fun to watch.

Patrick and George. That's Ireland and England covered. All you need are brothers called David and Andrew for the full British Isles set. Many people overlook that Page is not just a good guitar player but also a good composer and producer. This band could improvise live because they were so connected to each other. They knew they could never find another drummer to do that the way Bonham did, but Plant also said Bonham was irreplaceable because he was a close friend. They never thought of trying to replace him.

In 1977 my dearest late brother Colin was fed up of me playing pop tunes,I was 12 years old he was 26. He sat me down and put on my head his cherished bang and olufsen headphones. He never let me touch these normally,I sat there and this tune came on and within 12 seconds my jaw dropped and I was like what the ????. There it was my music upbringing began. I have been a massive fan ever since,them riffs off page,Jones,bonham,plant blew me away. My brother two years later went to knebworth in Hertfordshire 79 too see them live. I was gutted mam wouldn’t let me go as I was 14. He grew up with some bloody good music in his early years. He was born in 1951 so experienced some of the best music in the 50,s/60,s,70,s. He was into especially Zeppelin ,Moody blues,pink floyd,Santana,Simon and Garfunkel. His music catalogue was impressive and was passed onto me when he sadly passed away in 2017 aged 65. Every time I hear that tune my mind passes back to them lovely years of my life spent with him. My other brothers are into soul,northern soul,Motown. So imagine what my house was like,it was crazy, but I loved it. My mam didn’t forever banging on the ceiling with her brush,shut that bloody noise up you lot. Thank you our kid for introducing me to Zeppelin,floyd,Santana.,. The little insignificant things in life are made all the better with good music in our lives. Enjoy everyone and love the people in your lives. Every day of my life I am blessed to have had my older bro Colin in my life.

Led Zeppelin II is in my top 5 albums. I grew up in the 60's & 70's. I'm 68 years old and it does my heart good to see you guys have the same reaction I had in my teen years & early 20's to this band. They are my top rock & roll band. "Kashmir" is my all-time favorite rock song.

If you really want your mind blown, check these guys out doing their iconic song "Kashmir" from their Celebration Day concert in 2007. These guys reunited with deceased Bonham's son Jason as drummer, and clearly showed the world that they still "got it!" even while in their '50's. Best live version of this song ever! I PROMISE it will not disappoint.

@Jack Bauer Not trying to start up an argument here, I agree the studio version is best sonically, but I suggested "Celebration Day" as the best LIVE version for two reasons. First, you get to watch them perform, so a plus for this KZbin format, and second because it is MORE impressive due to them being older & still "rocking it" like nobody's business! Been a fan of theirs since the early 70's had all their albums & was lucky enough to see them in concert in 73-74ish. It was inspiring to me to see the "Celebration Day" footage.

@Jack Bauer I think we agree on most points here, I just am taking into consideration that this is a viewing format after all, for both sides of the KZbin watchers. Let's face it, MOST of the Zep catalog doesn't have video to see as you know, so it is fun to see the performances when you can. We are very lucky to have it ALL so easily available now.

@Jack Bauer If you want to call me selfish for suggesting taking a look at something that I enjoyed & surprised me, then so be it. You are correct, I have seen it many times and I personally do NOT need to see it through anyone else. I just started this by making a SUGGESTION, not a demand, & I certainly didn't give directions on what order to do it in. I am rather perplexed at how I got involved in this negative discourse with a fellow Zep fan when we both agree that the studio versions are 9 out of 10 times the best. I am just glad younger people are getting there, the journey is theirs. Simply trying to share info has lead to insults, which I refuse to partake in. I would hate to associate any unpleasantness with Zep's music over this from here on out. No hard feelings, I wish you well.

The breakdown section in the middle (the "psychedelic section) is longer in the studio album version. This video chops it down by a minute or two. The instrument that makes all the weird sounds during that section is called a Theramin. Instill love to imagine people's reactions to this song when it first came out (watching folks like you helps me to approximate that experience!). Thanks for the great reaction. John Bonhan's son Jason has done gigs as the drummer with Zeppelin. When I was in high school during the 80's it was all about Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, Janis Joplin, Motley Crüe. Recent years I've been obsessed with Rammstein from Germany. But Led Zepp is still #1! 🔥🔥🔥

All thru the ‘80’s the Georgia Bulldogs used the riff as one of their cheers. They set up a speaker - the size of a Volkswagen and that bass riff would cause the old Gator Bowl stadium to shake. They could drown out us Gators fans. They riff would sound and the bulldog fans followed with “Go, go, go” then another riff followed by the “Go’s”....wildly effective.

Yes, great riff and extremely simple as it is predominantly E jumping to D and back. That's it! It sounds so much larger than it really is. That's what I love about Page. The man knows how to do it like no one else.

This is the cut version, its missing most the middle section before the guitar solo. The Radio stations always play the full version, so not sure why this cut version even exists.

@Jack Bauer Seems the short version was created by the record company back in the 70s for Radio stations to play. They sent out copies of both the full version and the cut version. FM radio played mainly the full version and AM radio played only the short version. So that explains why growing up you heard the full version on FM radio stations. I have no idea why the official Led Zep site promotes this version over the full version. I see the remastered full 5:30 version is on KZbin, yet all the reactors grab the "official" short version.

That was an abbreviated radio version. That gates of hell breakdown is much longer and much more intense on the full version. Of course the song is obviously about sex. And like sex, you can't cut short the most intense part. Can we get a do over please!

When Bonham died. Suffocating in His vomits. Him and John Paul did a heavy drinking Night. Jon was to to drunk to walk home. John Paul put him in His car. They did not consider continuing without him. Jimmy Page had a very Long depression. Drugs ..... He made it back! Looks healthy! A Fucking genius!! Took me a year to figure out His strange tuning of THE guitar on Kashmir!!

He produced all of LZ's albums and created innovative recording techniques. He was also one of the first along with Jimi Hendrix to use distortion pedals (fuzz pedals) (in addition to the wah wah pedal) to get the sounds that he wanted from his guitar. Several people suggested you react to the live version from MSG. It a straight through performance - not like this video which is the studio recording over clips of different performances. And at MSG You get to see the theramin in action - the device that Jimmy uses to get the weird sound - he also uses a violin bow on the guitar in this and some other songs like Dazed and Confused..
