Is it possible to use LEDblinky to light up ONLY the buttons each game uses?

You can but you'd have to make sure the colors files aren't trying to change the colors

There are multiple vendors out there... Personally I trust Andy at Ultimarc.com, but there are others out there.

where can i find that default list of keys ?

While there really isn't a specific default officially, most people follow the default keys used in MAME. docs.mamedev.org/usingmame/defaultkeys.html

So I have my light-up buttons set up and working in MAME through LEDBlinky (thank you). Is there a way to configure LEDBlinky such that all buttons stay lit (let's say white by default) while the game specific buttons are changed to their game specific colors? I just can't figure out how to do this.
@MavericksArcade3 жыл бұрын
At this point in time, once the buttons have been commanded to do something by LEDBlinky, they can't be overwritten by another command. I've requested that Arzoo allow a sort of latest command be accepted option, but it's not there yet. So, if you program them white, they'll all stay white. Ideally, we could have a 1 frame animation, then have the game still have full control of them as well :-/

Thank you for these videos. My situation is a little different.... I just have an RGB Trackball connected and would like for it just to come on after Windows startup, or at least on LaunchBox/BigBox startup and stay on. How would I go about setting that up? I have always had "Generate LEDBlinky Input Map" set to start up minimized with Windows, and I would have to maximize it and click the color I want every time. I would like a more automated way to basically have the trackball turn on set to blue as long as the PC is on. Thanks.
@MavericksArcade4 жыл бұрын
The generate LEDBlinky Input map way is just using that as the default and kind of cheating :-) All your LEDBlinky animations and maps should have the trackball lit blue. If you don't have Launchbox launch at start up you could use a batch file configured to run at startup that would initiate the command to ledblinky just to light up the individual LED. From the LEDBlinky documentation: Set LED Port(s) LEDBlinky.exe 14 ,|,|... LEDBlinky.exe 14 ,,|,,|... LEDBlinky.exe 14 ,,,|,,,|... Note: The Controller Type can be specified as the LED Controller Name or 2 character abbreviation. Use the LEDBlinky Configuration Help Menu for a list of supported LED Controller names and abbreviations. Example: LEDWiz or LW, PACLED64 or PL, IPACUltimateIO or IP, PACDrive or PD, Howler or HO. Note: If only the Port and Intensity is specified, the value will be set on all active LED Controllers.

So I am trying to get my system working , I have The Ipac Ultimate , and I have IL buttons with RGB LEDS connected. My question is , Is there a way to see if my connections are working without going to Generate Input map and mapping every button, I just want to make sure that my wire connections are working , and my power is getting to my Ipac Ultimate, The Generate input map IS recognizing the Ipac Ultimate , but no lights are lighting up . Any ideas? Thanks
@MavericksArcade7 жыл бұрын
The lighting up are primarily handled through third-party apps like LEDBlinky. As far as testing the button input, the board should have a default config, so just open up notepad and start pressing buttons. For the LEDs use LEDBlinky and choose to light all buttons white. If they all light white you know the connectors are good. :-)

I'm using an ipac4 for controls, and have added a ipac ultimate for LED control - as I have 7 buttons per player The LED’s on the buttons work, and flash, so I know that’s good but now none of the buttons work in HS, and the ipac4 is not recognised, and the ultimate is not being recognised either and I'm now getting an error when I boot HS Any help would be greatly appreciated - I'm pulling my hair out

Hey Mav, could you help me with my setup (Launchbox & Mame + other emus)? I can only get a few games in MAME working correctly - most of the time it's just my joysticks that light up, if anything. I know you're prolly a busy guy, but I'm at my wits end! Using the latest version of LED Blinky, 7.2.0.1

Thank you very much for the videos and sorry for my English .. One question, if I configure the ipac uio leds via ledblinky in Windows, could it work if I later use ipac with retropy? Thanks!
@MavericksArcade7 жыл бұрын
The LEDBlinky orders the iPac how to handle the lights. Nothing is stored on the board. I believe with RetroPie you use a different OS that doesn't support LEDBlinky, I think.... You would need setup the LED controllers software that RetroPie uses.

im confused. the ultralux is listed as half the price of the rgb classic $4 per button compared to almost $9...thats gunna add up fast just for buttons. why? do not all of them light up different colors and can be used with ledblinky? why pick one over the other?
@MavericksArcade6 жыл бұрын
No, the preference for the buttons is simply that the Ultralux buttons are flat. The Classic RGB's have a concave button which feels more like the original. Just preference, functionality is the same.

Hi, SO I am strill tryng to configure my Cabinet with LEDBlinky, I also have a Ipac Ultimate board as well. However, I am using my 2 U360 sticks to act as game controller to control 6 buttons for each player as well as 2 buttons for the spinner. I have setup my machine but I am not getting the correct buttons to light up in MAME, I am running .179 and I have RGB LEDS that light up but they don't light the right buttons for each game. My questions is , when I do my input map , DO I set the port label for what I want my buttons to be , for example P1B1 should be the button that I want to be P1B1 or what my Joystick considers to be P1B1 , the same for the input codes , DO I set what I want them to be or what my Joystick cosiders it to be ? Thanks
@MavericksArcade7 жыл бұрын
It's a combination of the Generate Input Map AND how the buttons are defined in MAME. 1st, make sure in the LEDBlinky that you define P1B1 (Player 1 Button 1) as the label and of course, with RGB, setup a mapping for each color in the LED. Also, MAKE SURE that the KeyCode for each matches whatever the input is for that button. Then, when configuring Mame, make sure that what MAME is using as the button code matches. As long as everything matches 100% the correct buttons should light.

Arzoo (from LEDBlinky) stated in 2017 --- "LEDBlinky only supports LED controller hardware from Ultimarc, GGG, and Wolfware Technologies." from the page: forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=73905.1320 That was in March 2017, but I'm not sure if anything has changed since then. Maverick's Arcade I hadn’t set the id’s in the actual Pacled64 utility. I was trying to do it in Ledblinky thinking windows could just handle it. You have to set one Pacled id at a time, then unplug the usb and set the second to the number 2 id, now it’s working perfectly. Just going through your Ledblinky setup videos now, amazing work and thanks for doing them!!

So sorry, for taking so long to respond, I'm just getting my stuff in order to come back to all this. Glad you figured it out, so it's basically the same deal as with the light guns, they share the ID unless you reconfigure them seperately :-)

I'm planning to build a pedestal arcade which'll handle 10 buttons per player (yes 10 buttons) What encoder should i get in order to control the lighting for all buttons. Does the Ledblinky handle several encoders?
@MavericksArcade7 жыл бұрын
10 per player for how many players? You can do several encoders for inputs, but I'm not sure about the LEDs. Are you doing RGB buttons for all your buttons? According to one of my users if you used multiple pacled64s or other controllers for the LEDs, LEDBlinky should handle it, or at least it does in his case :-) His name is Justin Fugate and he uses a setup with multiple LED controllers. He's pretty smart guy :-) Your question was directly addressed in the following video livestream: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qauVknl6gLWdkMU

The RGB lighting conditions don't normally change in game unless it's a MAME game that has light effects (like coin insert), but no discernible lag.

Mavrick, amazing series! Is there a repository of LEDBlinky animation files already created for those not interested in creating their own custom animation or using one of the defaults provided?

Not that I'm aware of, only because the animations would be vastly different for most depending on their chosen layout.
