LEDGE FISHING 101--- Catching HUGE BASS on LAKE EUFAULA (Big Crankbaits, Carolina Rigs, and MORE)

Grew up on Eufaula and my dad was a storm fisherman and I still hate lightening. I remember an afternoon on the community ledge y’all are fishing out of Lakepoint and our old speed sticks humming just like that and me half scared to death. We had big ones cornered and it took big bolts to run us off. I believe it was a Sunday and we couldn’t go back because we had to go to church that night. That was around 1980. We weathered some storms we surely shouldn’t have. Stay safe boys!

I am taking my son down there this coming weekend for a high school tournament….any pointers you can share would be greatly appreciated!!

Yeah man! Admittedly, I have limited knowledge on the lake outside of the summer time but I do know around the park can extremely good. You should look for grass to fish too because a lot of fish are up in the grass right now across Alabama! Other then that, all reports suggest that it’s fishing extremely tough. I know that may not be what you wanted to hear but that’s what I’m hearing. I wish good luck to your son and his team this weekend!!

this week i am fishing the ASBFA bass tournament for alabama state and i was wondering if you could give me any tips to destroy the fish off ledges if i have to ill give you my number be great to have you help!!!!!!

That’s awesome! Good luck in your tournament. What we focus on down there is big, down current channel swings. That lake is unique in the fact that the river channel swings and snakes through the middle of the lake. Ride that channel ledge and look for swings a cuts that bass might be hiding in. Let me know how it goes!!
