It's a real light. Far ahead of others. Easy to wear or mount on my Intense Primer S. Case, tough. charging , magnetic, control phone or manual. If you use it as a flood night lite in tent you can turn it off with phone in your bag. Th adaptive strength and focus is very helpful, rain or snow you don't have to take your gloves off to work on the light. Run time is very long. 9 hrs of dark, I'm done in one or two. I'll crawl in a hole. LedLenser had a new customer deal for I think 20% off for 1st time customer. Saved a bunch. So, winner , winner, chicken dinner. Happy Holidays Tom. Enjoy.

Hey Sam you are a star... You mentioned many things here that I didn't so I really appreciate your thoughtfulness behind your comments.. I have used this light now on 5 or more camps and like it more on every one.. It really hits the sweet spots for me.. I loved the previous H7r core but this has way more features, is 50 percent more powerful and 25 percent lighter... Hey happy new year once again.. best wishes Tom

Hi Tom. The run times and lux output on this torch for a relatively low weight make it a good all round package. Having seen you use this on a couple of camps I have to say it’s very impressive 👌

Love the point about the magnetic charging, never thought of the practicality of not having a charging port for stuff to clog

Hi thank you for your comments... I think people compare ports to their phones which are also waterproof... BUT they wont continue to work until dried out. Its not a deal breaker but just something that you dont have to worry about and will stand the test of time... best wishes tom

Hey great to hear from you and your thoughts 💭 on the Hr4.. I used this light again on a camp in Saturday night and really love it.. Power is awesome and that spot is so punchy into the distance maintaining still a decent spread of light... Best wishes Tom

Hi Tom. Thank you for sharing. I use Olight torch and head torch. Mainly because they are so small and easy to carry. They also have a ‘moonlight’ mode which gives off a very low l😅get and that’s handy for when you’re in the tent or cooking without blasting everyone with white light. Greetings from camp in Kilkenny, the fire is lit with coal, toasty.

A very interesting light, great capabilities and configurability. A couple of very minor critiques of the headtorch from what I've seen here - I personally dislike switching where the modes include alternate functions i.e. low / medium /high then flash, preferring flash or beacon modes to be accessed via some other switch mode and not in the main levels loop. Also I noticed that when you attached the charger the light went off - this is quite common but in a perfect world the light would remain illuminating while charging. That said it could replace my current system where I have a headtorch + mini thrower torch (wuben e6) for a long-distance spot for route finding in technical terrain
@TOMHEANEY100
@TOMHEANEY100 7 ай бұрын
Hi I get what you are saying but the light can also be programmed to come on at its last setting or cycle through in the preset order.. In practice I didn't find the flash mode intrusive or annoying as its only one function and at leat the RGB modes are separate.. Yes when you attach the charger the lights goes off by default but you can switch it on again if you need it... great observations by the way and best wishes Tom

Hey Mark, great to hear your thoughts and I really appreciate you watching the video... Like I said this lamp is easily a keeper for me... It's quite bulky but thats just because everything is at the front and it needs to be that size to give the power output and combined runtimes. For what it is the weight and size are absolutely fair enough. I ll bring it to Vietnam so you can have a look if you haven't bought something else or it by then... 5 weeks from tomorrow and really looking forward to meeting you and your family... best wishes Tom

Looks a great light Tom, could even lure me away from my Fenix. The reactive light seemed a little laggy though, compared to thepetzl swift rl. Or it might of been you switching modes, what do you think? Great video Tom and like all of yours, well filmed and leaves you wanting more.
@TOMHEANEY100
@TOMHEANEY100 8 ай бұрын
Hi Dave, this is heavier than the Fenix but has much better constant light out put as the Fenix drops off power very fast.. If you boost it up again it then eats through the battery.. At least that was my experience.. I haven't used the swift RL but at 700 lumen max and only a 2 hour run time its a bit off the stats here but it is lighter weight in its defence. I obviously am not familiar how the Petzl reactive lighting works but I was suer impressed with the Ledlenser here and it definitely dumps out the power for open spaces. When using it as a bike light it dipped the beam in built up areas and for on coming cars which was awesome... Thank you for the comment.. I hope you are well... Tom

Thank so much again Tom, for easily the most comprehensive and best review of this new headlight from Ledlenser that I have seen. My very first camping headlight was a Coleman - which also has sensors to adjust between spot and flood, and will reduce the output as you get close to an object - but it has nothing like the power and ease of control with the Phone app that this new Ledlenser has, let alone the build quality, lumens output, run time, and 7 year warranty. Ledlenser should seriously list you as an ambassador as your reviews are so thoroughly researched and presented, and real world; I've been thinking about adding this headlamp to my collection; after your review it's just a matter of when rather than if... Thank you again for easily being one of the very best camping kit reviewers on KZbin - very much appreciated, and all the best for the future with the channel.. :-)

Hey thank you so very much for taking the time to give me such a detailed amount of positive feedback.. Yeah I tested this light on 5 or more camps before I reviewed it. I even took it out on my bike to see how the reactive lighting worked with oncoming traffic and street lighting.. But even apart from the reactive lighting it's still about the basics like build quality, ease of use, power output, runtime and weight.. Ledlenser here have reduced the weight by 25 percent , increased the power by 50 percent and kept the runtime the same compared to the H7r core.. Never mind now having the ability to have spot and flood beams combined. So this one is my favourites and one of my best friends has bought one based on our discussions.. Just a bit more detail for you.. ha ha.. Once again I really appreciate you sharing your positivity.. best wishes Tom

KZbin certainly isn't what people think it is. I'm from the old days of film and video. It takes forever sometimes for the simplest idea to get done. Penny's per hour after all said and done. And this isn't done in the backyard. Costs money, time to go and do. You may see a vid every year or so from Nomad Mountain Man, just don't hold your breath. No pressure.
