Jimmy Page is great. Same with Bonham. But John Paul Jones comes from another planet!! His bass and piano skills boggle my mind! He's an astonishing talent and in my opinion, the most musically gifted in a group of ridiculously talented musicians.

To get the full experience you have to play all 10 or whatever number of their records start to finish. If you don't have time for that there is a fantastic multi-DVD from about 20 yrs. ago that captures 4 live shows with all kinds of special features and isn't more than $ 20-25 US. It will more than get your big toe in the water. When I got it, I spent a whole weekend watching it with some mild chemical enhancement but your call. You won't be disappointed. ROCK ON 🎼🎵🎶🎤🎹🎸🎸🥁

@@JeremiahB444 I miss saving up for a record with my paper route and the anticipation of finally getting it and excitedly ripping off the plastic and at last plopping it on the turntable while studying the liner notes. That's what IMO is missing in the computer age. The physical act of bonding with a piece of music and if lucky going to see their promotional tour. You're about the same age as my son and he is tired of me always talking about the good 'ole days but you strike me as someone who would lend an eager ear.... Peace, out and have a great weekend yourself Tgod

20 as of May 2024 and I grew up listening to 70s/80s rock due to my parents who were born in 63 and 64. Ive always had a nostalgia for that time period just because of the mannerism of my parents and stories they tell me who were from that time. I definitely missed out, and no I’m not one of those self loathing types who hates everything about my generation. I just genuinely think I would’ve fit in the 70s/80s a lot more. Like, a hell of a lot more.

The intro of this song is what inspired me to learn to play guitar, twenty five years ago. To this day, virtually every time that I pick up one of my guitars, I play this song. It is such a joy to play, given all of the hammer-ons and pulls offs required.

The only thing I hate about led zeppelin is that you never know to play air drums, bass or lead guitar. ❤

Tolkien and The Hobbit was the reason this song came to life.. Plant was a huge J.R.R. fan and Tolkien wrote a poem in 1915 called Over the Hills and Far Away.
