Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

Robert always gave great insightful interviews, he's very intelligent and has a very dry, sarcastic, British sense of humour. Very quick and witty yet, down to earth. He never came across a phoney or contrived, like some other front men in rock. I bellieve he is from working class Northern England. Wolverhampton. The origional and the greatist rock singer of all time. No one even comes close to his talent.

Martina Mills I'm a guy, and I understand what you're getting at. Have you seen the We're Gonna Groove video? Led Zeppelin at their best in my view. Each one of them is crankin' it in top form. From Jan 1970 in the Albert Hall. Just amazing! No doubt his obvious intelligence and friendliness are part of the attraction. I don't drool over him, but it's easy to see why women would. Interestingly, there seem to be no guys like him around today in 2018. Plenty of good music around, but nothing like back then! Duh, I know that obvious fact has been repeated a million and one times. Poor rockers today are being subtly pushed to write gender neutral lyrics, and encouraged not to flaunt their White Male Privilege. How absurd! What would the Stones and Led Zeppelin be today without that bravado?
@klausrain111
@klausrain111 6 жыл бұрын
Martina Mills Robert's voice while he's talking seems to resonate very closely with the second (in the West the so-called sexual) chakra, probably not by design on his part, but maybe he's aware of it whether he knows it or not. He's so intelligent and totally present when he's talking in interviews, it's amazing. He's obviously enjoying the hell out of playing the Robert Plant role in this great life drama/adventure we're all part of. He's thinking, How/why did my karma play out so well that I got this part?!

I was sitting about ten feet from the stage and got some great shots of the group. Wonderful memories. The next day I was downtown in Reykjavik when Led Zeppelin was walking around checking out the town. Everyone was checking them out as they checked out the town.

Melissa Layton Correct, he grew it while writing at the Bron-Yr-Aur cottage with Jimmy. He would keep it (along with a beard) through July 1971 - last gig with it was Milan. And no more facial hair for Robert in the 70's after that! I always said that Plant was at his vocal peak during 1970-71 while he had the facial hair and the tapes prove it! ;) Of course in 68-69 he had even higher range, but his voice got a little more balanced by early 1970.
