Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

Jimmy Page's slide solo is so beautiful. He is so calm, and in control. He does a little improvising toward the end, but it still fits the song, then he goes back to the record perfect rhythm part like a soldier on a mission. What is truly incredible is how close to the record this live performance sounds. Really amazing effort by all band members.

The quality is so good because it's 35 mm film. If stored properly it doesn't degrade like videotape, and it responds to "restoring" so well. It's also why Woodstock has such good quality, as well as 4 Jimi Hendrix gigs from 1970 (Berkeley, Atlanta, Isle of Wight, and Maui)

Bc everyone but John Paul Jones sold their soul to the devil or so the legend goes, and it's strange bc everyone except Jones had terrible tragedies in their lives. Plant was in a wreck that nearly killed him, then a year later his 5 year old son DIED. John Bonham DIED at the age of 32. As for Page when Bonham DIED so did Led Zeppelin, and Zeppelin was Page's baby, his creation, not to mention struggling with a heroin addiction for many years and never writing or producing ANYTHING that ever went in the charts after Zeppelin. Glad Page made out of the darkness and is still with us today. Plant is of course a dignified older gentleman these days, which leads us back to John Paul Jones who made it through all of this unscathed and has had a wonderful life, and as the old legend has it, he's the only one out of the four who refused to be a part of some sort of deal they supposedly made to sell their souls in exchange for fame and Fortune.

I'm oh so OLD now.... (66 ) but Led Zeppelin was THE FORCE OF NATURE when it came to my musical genre back in my day... I now watch their concerts & singles on You Tube, & relish every single screen shot i can get..... they were ABSOLUTELY the BEST band ever... rock & roll to die for, slow, sexy songs, blues, & rythem, and such incredible musical talent .... Robert Plant's vocals were awe inspiring, Jimmy Page .... the absolute BEST guitariest and " stringed " musichian ever, & , well, how can you even put a description to John Bonham .... literally the very best DRUMMER , EVER!!!!! No, im not going to leave out JPJ... he transformed from a bassist to a really great pianist & percussionist,

This is a perfect example of why Zeppelin was the best, no backing tracks, canned music additives or fillers, no digital programs to keep the voice in tune, not even digital compression programs to easily balance the mic levels for the vocals and instruments. Just three amazingly talented musicians and one of the very best rock singers to grace the stage, able to hold audiences in their hand.

OMG! If that was at the Tampa Stadium, I was there! Oh my, I was there! I was there every time they came to play at the Tampa Stadium, I always got there early because I wanted to get as close to the stage as possible! I had this mad crush on Robert Plant anyway and I wanted him to notice me so badly! Lol!! Anyway, I must have seen them perform 6 or 7 times. Believe it or not, they are even sound better live and in person. I was so young, tho....under age, maybe 16 or 17yrs old and Robert Plant was a good guy, you know. Hot little number but way too young. Lol! Thanks for playing this video. That brings back memories. The Led Zeppelin truly are the greatest band to ever grace this earth. Truly legendary!

"and happiness is what you need" .. appreciate almost every comment here .. Now that's a band , not saying there isn't others that I appreciate on this level, however Led Zeppelin's music does bring such joyous memories, timeless music that stands the test any decade, musicianship and skill.. just amazing.

Such a great song… so dynamic and rich… how restrained Bonzo is until the chorus. I love live recordings they are like naturally beautiful women; not perfect, just beautiful. Also, the artists are free to do whatever they want without track time restraints. Each artist feeding of the other like jazz musicians.
