I stumbled across this video searching for french music of south Louisiana. I saw Lacassine in the post and it awoke many fond memories. When the video started I knew I hit the spot. In the mid 70s, I had two very good friends in Houston who carried me there to spend a weekend avec son amis. It was one of the best times I had ever had. They introduced me to their music, their food and their goodness. We returned many times. I remember a place where we camped called Whiskey Chitter. I loved those people. I am so lucky to have come across this video! And I will share it now. Bon temps!

Smooth singing! Country music has Jim Reeves and Cajun music has Lee Benoit. All band members skilled. I appreciate that I can actually hear the bass notes your wife is playing. I've listened to numerous different versions of this song, and I keep coming back to this one. Lee, your accordion playing is so tight and active. The rhythm section is keeping perfect time-triangle included. Keeping time like that isn't NOT as easy as it looks. As a percussionist from birth, I know this. This song is like the most beautiful metronome I've ever heard. I recently purchased an accordion just to start from scratch and try, one day in the distance future, to attempt this classic the way you do it. Thank you for sharing this!
