I plan on shooting this again with a better shooting rest to see if I can improve the group sizes soon👍

My flea bitten opinion is I would rather see real world results. You won't fight from a shooting bench.

I expected the SMLE to do well coz it has a heavy barrel.. Surprised.

So was I...I need to do it again because I’m pretty sure a lot of it was me

Of all the guns here the no4 has the heaviest barrel. They are known to be the most accurate enfields due to simple bedding, heavier barrel and better sights compared to the smle's relatively extremely light whippy barrel that requires precise and complex bedding. Those sights on the smle dont help

I used cardboard shims to greatly improve consistency in my Lithgow. A Kiwi on Castboolets wrote an excellent article on it.

Something I find interesting is how they decided on going from a straight pull to the cock-on-closing design being that both are quick to operate

Would be good to see these comparisons again with the target not blowing around and on a proper rest.

No 4 and M1 Garand had the best sights during WW2 And both are heavy rifles

Give 215 grain woodleighs a try, My Enfields didn't group that well but when I reloaded those bullets over H4350 , tightened right up.

Thanks for these videos. Looking back , which rifle in your opinion was the most positive to handle? Which most positive to shoot? Which would you take to a battle?
@ForestFirearms4 жыл бұрын
I really like the handling of the Ross but the No4 is definitely the most developed battlefield weapon of the bunch

Ross rifle is very beautiful. My bro has ross mk3 . It shoots very good. Battle setting is 600yards .

Are you Scottish? Noticed the picture in the beginning looks like a Scot with a kilt. They used the Lee enfield correct?

Don't call it "sporterized." It's been molested/damaged/ruined/made near worthless/bubba'd
