Lee Everett Meets Clementine (The Walking Dead | Telltale Games)

History teacher Lee Everett is on his way to prison, having been convicted for killing a state senator that had an affair with his wife. He is transported by a police officer in the back of a cruiser, heading to prison. While driving to prison, the police officer tries to engage Lee in conversation. He asks Lee why he isn't saying that he "didn't do it". The officer explains that, usually, he would have to suffer through a person saying that they didn't commit any crimes at the point they were at, and is surprised that Lee is not doing that. Lee tells the officer that he isn't the kind of guy to say something like that. The officer then tries to make small talk as he ignores the radio chatter from his police comm system that calls for assistance to an 10-34. As he tries to bring up another story that he believes to be more hilarious than depressing, he aids his eyes off of the road and crashes into a man that had wandered out onto the pavement and violently cuts off the road and into a roadside forest.
Lee awakens after at least a day of unconsciousness in the back of a wrecked car with his handcuffs still on. He becomes aware of his surroundings and notes both his thirstiness and the pain in his right leg. He kicks out a window and drags himself out of the car, noticing that the officer was lying in a pool of blood a short distance away. His shotgun lies a few meters away from the body with a single shell on the ground. Lee limps over to the officer and removes the keys to the handcuffs from the corpse. After trying to unlatch the chamber from the pulley, Lee drops the keys in front of the officer's face. Lee quickly retrieves the keys again and then proceeds to remove the handcuffs from his wrists. A weak groan comes from the officer, prompting Lee to ask if he was alive. The officer the growls and claws at Lee.
Lee falls down in surprise, then recoils as the officer then tries to attack him again. Lee crawls back further and further until his back hits the wrecked car. He sees the shotgun and shell within reach. He grabs both but bobbles the shell upon trying to load it into the weapon. He grabs it again and successfully loads the shotgun, then points it at the officer, who appears to be exhibiting some form of animalistic behavior as he continually tries to claw at him and shows no regard for the fear of the gun pointed at his face. Lee shoots the officer in the head, blowing it apart and slaying him.
In horror at his own actions, Lee casts aside the weapon and asks the dead officer if he is truly dead. Lee notes how the dead officer's skin was rotted and smelled like guts. He then notices a figure in the distance upon a hill. He yells out to it and asks for help. Shortly thereafter, a cluster of other people with rotted skin and what appear to be severely decomposed frames come out of the brush. Lee hastily stands up and- with his single good leg- limps away from the car wreck, noticing others trying to claw at him. With the figure gone, he climbs up the hill and climbs over a fence into a suburban backyard. walkingdead.wikia.com...

I just find it cute how from the beginning Clementine already knew what was going on she was smart enough too. When she told Lee "You need to be quiet" she was already being brave and starting to understand the world she was going to have to live in now. Also the fact she handed Lee a hammer so she knew where to kill them she prepared herself as well as she knew where to hide so in those aspects she was a badass from the beginning.

This was the very beginning of the apocalypse. The gov't didn't tell the people anything that was happening because they thought they could contain it, so no on was seeking shelter or anything. Certain neighborhoods probably had nothing going on until it started spreading more. She couldn't have been up there for more than a day. Sandra seems like she died recently too.

@FlyingSpaceKatt Considering Lee had only been in the Apocalypse for an hour and been in the vicinity of a single subdivision, it's probably very reasonable that they thought they'd find refuge somewhere else. Believe it or not, figuring that the whole country is going dark is probably a lot to take in and is never a likely conclusion one would immediately arrive at. "Let's do the ultimate apocalypse strategy X" probably doesn't mean much when "let's concentrate on leaving the disaster zone and get the authorities involved in these various murders" seems like a viable option at the time. Also, Lee's an escaped fugitive at this point, so his priorities were a little miffed at the time.

I don’t get it. When Lee finds Clementine she says she heard her Babysitter Sandra screaming 2 days before he arrived. But here he was most likely knocked out for only an hour or two considering the state of the cops corps and the sunset. When he finds Sandra she is basically rotten. Now before the crash there was plenty of normal traffic and the streets weren’t clogged with people trying to evacuate the city like the show and comic book show. Everything seems normal until a few cop cars zoom past and a Helicopter. I don’t understand the timeline of this.

captainbrunch well i mean, it takes some days for someone to turn depending on.... something. So, maybe other people weren’t aware of the infection and for the cops, maybe some people just didn’t call because they didn’t know it was an infection or something. Or perhaps it just had started, but then how did Sandra turn.... wth, you’ve got me confused edit : season 3 can help you understand, when it first started with lee, no traffic, on javi’s side traffic. Maybe the infection couldve spread faster in javi’s town rather then where lee is at. Well, javi’s side was at night and lee’s side was at morning, so im guessing the infection had just started to get global and big at morning and 2 days ago when sandra got bit couldve been the day the infection started and when it wasnt aware to people. maybe thats your answer? edit 2 : or maybe thats not the exit highway?

Tofu I see your point it just baffles me that the babysitter was so rotten by the second day. She should look somewhat like a normal human albeit bloody and white eyes like the cop. Then they showed the streets outside of clementines house and it was a mess of cars everywhere so I’m guessing shit got real in place to place slowly but then wouldn’t the conversation between the cop and lee be a bit different like them trying to figure out what was happening rather than the cop being so casual. I think it’s a blip in the timeline but it’s just something that was off that I noticed.
