You encouraged me to get one of these a while ago and I finally did. They don't make a 7 SAUM but I bought a 7 wsm and it works like a charm because I use a shellholder-free frankford arsenal press. I just set the finished bullet on top of the shell pinchers instead of in it and the crimp lands perfectly on the end of the case mouth. I haven't used it yet but I look forward to messing around now that I have time.

So your reason for crimping was to increase precision/accuracy? I'm having some trouble getting a decent load sorted so was going to try crimping. Just to check your instructions. With ram at the top with cartridge in it, you tighten down the crimp die as far as it will go with 2 fingers, then go 1/8 of a turn further. Is that correct?

Would you describe why you do it this way Butterbean?
@butterbeansbarstool54143 жыл бұрын
It's used as a tuning method the same as changing the powder charge, start at the 1-8th turn and go up small increments until you find the best grouping or SD and ES , What we are doing with this is controlling the powder ignition dwell time
