Mr Hazlewood. I’m sitting here on a beach in the Caribbean tonight, its 1:39 am. Having a cold beer, mourning my mom and listening to your catalog…. A shooting star just lit up the sky. I made a wish. Thank you sir.

It's not just the extraordinary vocal sound though. It's the performance too. Every glance and slight turn, perfect. Something today's frugging gymnasts could learn a lot from.

I cannot believe that Lee Hazelwood was not really on my radar until a few weeks ago. I thought he was a producer and a sometime Nancy Sinatra teammate. Boy, have I been knocked silly with his talent! Bravo!

Lee wasn't on my radar until about a year ago, and he grew up in my hometown of Port Neches, Texas. I never realized that he was such an icon of the music industry.

Born in Oklahoma, grew up in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana as well as some time in Kansas. He spent his teenage years growing up in the great state of Texas. Studied for a medical degree at SMU in Dallas. And served his country in the Army during the Korean War before embarking on his long, successful and amazing music career.

Giving this song a listen for the first time in years and, despite me listening to this song repeatedly at the time of its upload in 2011 *and* putting the lyrics in the description, I swear I've never noticed the lyric being ''world love'', I always heard it as ''world out there'' - Mandela effect?
