Nice Video. I have loaded on a loadmaster for many years now. I generally prep the brass and prime with one tool head and then load on another toolhead. To prep I have the de-prime /full length size in the first station...and Lee expander die in the 2nd station (priming station)...Then once they are all primed and expanded...I remove the primer tools....which allows me to put the powder drop (I swapped out to a Lee Drum Powder drop) in the first station...second station is powder check (I also have a endoscope to view powder on a small tablet), third station is Lee bullet drop, 4th station is bullet seat and 5th is factory crimp. Fun stuff! I like all the polishing you did (that goes for any of the powder drops out there). Nice setup!

I've used the loadmaster for years, all 9mm. I'm setting mine up now for 223. Good info and video. Keep making them.!

Excellent review and operational tips. I would like to hear more about the slim light fixture you have. I have not reloaded since 92. I used to have a Bear single stage press, with a separate RCBS powder drop. So getting back into reloading and jumping to a progressive I am trying to do all my homework. I have read plenty of reviews, watched several videos, and heard plenty of horror stories. For the price, some patience and a couple simple adjustments and your "GTG"... Good To Go....

Very good video! The steps you outlined in getting the same measure of powder with no loss of powder was right on. I did as you suggested, except I've not replaced the ball chain yet, as the supplied one is holding. I am ready with the larger size though when needed. I also did what Lee Precision states in their guide which is to take an average measurement of 1.0 cc of powder. I'm using Hodgdon H110 for a supersonic load with a Hornady 150 GR FMJBT. Once I had everything dialed in and got the ratio from cc to GR, did the math for 16.5 GR, set the micrometer, and would you believe it??? It was exactly 16.5 GR first time! Man was I excited! I've done the powder dips and returned them. I bought and have used "Lee The Perfect Powder Measure" which was reliable to a degree, on the Lee Classic Turret Press, but it could take forever to get it dialed in right. the cc scale didn't prove to work well at all. Needless to say I'm just setting up the Load-Master, and when I got a precise measurement I was just about floored. So I wanted to thank you for your video as it really made my day! I hope the primer feed set up will go well. I bought the press a year ago, but health conditions got in the way. Now I'm slowly getting functional. I also need to mill my 80% Lower Receiver and put the rifle together and do some breaking in, and practice. I'm a year behind, but I should have been dead on 9/11/15 due to aortic valve heart failure. Miracles happened that day, so with great joy I say BARUCH YAHUWEH ELOHEY! (Bless Yahuweh my Elohim!) Keep up the great work! Crevice Dog SeeTheSound.net tsyhwh.2ya.com/

Good video. Nothing particuarly new to me, but all the good info is in one place. I never thought to polish my powder measure though. I will have to do that. p.s. the new Lee auto drum powder measure looks to be a winner, if you haven't checked it out, you may want to.

+GunFun ZS I do have the new lee auto drum. I started to make a video for it. I would have been the first on KZbin at the time. Its a lot better than the auto disk. In fact I use it for all of my pistol calibers. I highly recommend it.

Great video ! Thanks . I have 2 loadmasters and they really are great once they are dialed in . I don't use my 2 lee powder measures though I bought a hornady measure with powder through expander mechanism and it's dead on every time . The lee measure is ok but takes too much work and almost never consistent powder weights dispensed . You can drill a hole for your lee powder return and run an eye bolt with a spring that's closed on each end from lowes or Home Depot .

What is the deal with the case feeder? Isn't the the rifle one for 223 (longer) cases? Can it be adjusted for shorter 300 Blk, or is it adapted 9mm?
@agrippa2k4698 жыл бұрын
I'm may try to modify the LEE Bullet feeder for 308s (bullets are too long). However, here is something interesting... The incredibly expensive Hornady LnL Rifle Bullet Feeder Kit ($380?!) has an add-on for 308 bullets. What is unique is that just the add-on is a feeder/seater/crimper all in one die. And it is about $125. Just stick a bullet tube on top and "Bob's your uncle!" without the whole kit.

Great video! On the Powder loading, I understand that you cannot adjust both the travel of the arm to prevent the 'shelf' of powder and the amount of flare of the case. How, then, do you adjust the system for pistol rounds that require flare? (I'm loading 9mm) Thanks. I've now moved from the disc measure to the drum, but I still have powder getting all over using Accurate #7 powder.

Having problems setting up my case feeder. It does not reliably push the case completely into the plate. It appears as if the slide does not come down the rod enough, or with enough weight to force the case slider all the way in. Any ideas?

Hey gun toter great video. Thanks a lot for being so thorough. Quick question, are you using the lee 300 blk crimp die? It looks different than the one I have and also I couldn't use the lee rifle charging die either. The dies that come with the lee 300 blk die set seem to be too long for the loadmaster and seem to be more suitable for a single stage press. I would greatly appreciate any help on this matter. Thanks again!
@4x4le7 жыл бұрын
how well does it work out for you having the universal expander on station 2? I really want to like this press, and want to get one but I hate how lee wants you to run a universal decapper on #1 and a sizing die on #2 with decapper removed for priming purposes. I have 308 and 311 expander balls with the decapper cut off allready but if I want to run cast bullets in 300 blackout I would need to run your setup or get a different press that does not waste one of its stations.

What powder die are you using? I have a rifle charging die, but it does not work with the short .223 case. You said rifle charging die but it looks different from mine. Been searching everywhere and cant find anything on what die to use for the 300 black
@GunFunZS9 жыл бұрын
+loud0019 Just get the lee Pace setter kit. It will have the powder through die you need. What he was meaning is that the powder through dies which come with rifle caliber sets don't have a flaring chamfer on the tube. The rifle charging die lee sells is sort of a once size fits all for larger rifle cases, and it has a couple inserts to compensate for different loads.

Erik Bouse what die do you have in your second position
@lyricalman207 жыл бұрын
A lee decap with the decap pin removed
@liberalguntoter46747 жыл бұрын
Erik Bouse I assume you have the resizing dies in station one. switch station one and two. Make the Decaping die with the decaping pin installed station one. station two should be the resizing die with the decaping pin removed. The reason your getting flipped primers is because the brass is moving too much. Watch my video again and I believe I cover it if not its in one of my other videos but this should solve your problem.
@lyricalman207 жыл бұрын
I must be confused then I thought the deprim die also resized that's why I put one without the pin in station two
@liberalguntoter46747 жыл бұрын
Erik Bouse There is a decaping only die and there is a decaping and resizing die. They are different. If you are still confused I can make you a video later on and post it for you. You want just the decaping dies only in station one. Put the resizing die with the decaping pin removed in station two. The resizing die will hold the brass steady while the primers is being inserted by the press. This should all but eliminate your flipped primer issue.

You know I have been a NRA member for years and this year I will not continue to be a member. I live in San Diego and am in the military. I have contacted them, in which you will find diffiecult, they have not done a thing about CCW permits, AR15 legislation, or any other "rights" in which the collect money to protect. My money is better spent on ammo and IDPA membership dues. The NRA has become quite a joke, just me ranting.
