This album is pinch fucking heaven, really wish they would go back to this unique style again. Those Sumerian bands really paved the way for metal. After the Burial, Periphery, Born of Osiris, The Faceless, Veil of Maya were such influential bands not just for the core scene, but really kind of started the Djent scene (not technically) but made it much more noticeable and paved the way for newer bands. I The Breather too.

I come from a Classic Rock Era, with a large mix of Jazz too. Heavy metal was born out of Sabbath and have always loved the dark tonal sounds they made. Moving forward, being a drummer, I listened to LOG, Gojira, and the likes of many others out there. It was by chance, I heard this tune on WSOU, a college radio station here on the East Coast. It was love at first sound! The intricacies, timing and methodical placement of each beat is what captured my interest. The sound (engineering) was very clean and every note discernable, However, I found that this was the only album with those types of songs and arrangements. All the other albums releases including the newer releases do not compare. I wish they would have kept up that trend of writing. It was masterful!

***** It's a great record ain't it? ;) [S]unjay The Pøny He can, and he did. I didn't bash anyone here. Adding (if you genuinely want to know, cuz I can't tell over internet): Sometimes I feel the need to react to guys who complain but don't add something of value while they're at it. The metal scene has fucked itself in the ass due to the massive amount of people who're only complaining and can't see (or refuse to see, even) the beauty of each record nowadays released. Sometimes I grow tired of these people, thus I react. But I've never been harmful and this guy Tate picked it up well. Even listened to my advice, 's all good.

If someone said "citizen kane" was garbage, does that mean it's a bad movie? No, it kinda just means they don't like it. People say Lee sucks, he doesn't, they just don't like how he plays now. Check the like/dislike bar. Plenty of people still like it. True, BOO isn't what it used to be, but it's not bad. At least it's eons better than most of their label mates.
