Spielberg tried to cast Korean actors like Kim heesun and Choi minsu back in the 90s, so it's not like he is looking down on the Korean movie industry like ppl put it. I just finished reading Pachinko and really could picture Lee Min Ho as Hansu. He really fits the seriousness and depth of the character. I think the immoral aspects of the character are going to be portrayed perfectly by LMH based on what he is known for but there is a certain grace that LMH always has to his characters that is perfect for Hansu because he was someone I had mixed feelings about reading the book where I couldn’t hate him completely as I have with all of Lee Min Ho’s characters. I really can’t wait to see how he does in this new role!!!

I love about korean actors that they proudly speak or interview in there own language. Keep interpreter so they get employed. Though lee min ho know how to speck in English and understand as well. Interviewer sounds so excited that even I wanna go watch it now. However, kudos to the interpreter. Her job isn’t easy at all. Speaking two languages and doing free untaught translating for my parents - it’s a tough job. I know when I first saw him in boys before flower or the Korean version of F4 - I didn’t quite like him but my friend was so into him. Later in life, I came to enjoy that film. And come to love his character in Fate, the warrior that went and got the doctor through space and time.

I adore the interviewer. She did a great job. You could say she did good research before approaching him. As a translator and interpreter myself, her respect for the other lady was also very endearing to me. As for Lee Min Ho, I noticed right away that he wasn't dancing in the intro but later his character got so ugly that I couldn't care less 😂 I was mad. He is a good actor though. I think his stint in "King: Eternal Monarch" was very good. He was more gentle, vulnerable, yet a leader. Honsu is another challenge to his skills.
