The difference between the two videos is incredible. Lee's feels heartfelt and sad at the end of an era, the boys' feels like "yeah, so anyway, glad that's over with". It's horrible. It's such a horrific business decision, there must be a MASSIVE reason for it, but they've just glossed right over it like it's "one of those things". We don't know what that is, so we can't judge if either side is "wrong" yet, or whether it was just a huge creative disagreement. What we CAN judge is the way they each chose to present the news, and she was focused and honest, whereas they chose to be upbeat, self-promoting, and potentially untruthful. What they disagreed over is between them, but the way they present a public announcement is open for judgement.

I assumed it was your choice to leave because your personal performances withing the valley folk sketches on Bring the Funny were far and away the most consistently strong. We don't know the details either way. She could have said, "We need to do it this way or not at all". Then both sides would be accurate. It would have been her decision to leave, and they would be making a vote to kick her. Or some other situation. Either way, besides the vote Lee's view of them still seems positive and we should show both sides some support :)

This is so sad Lee. The Valleyfolk felt really strong with four pillars. The dynamic of the four was so strong and fun to watch. Take away one of those pillars it's hard to maintain that foundation. exactly. thats how you can tell whatever happened was very underhanded and back stabby. she obviously enjoyed her job which is why shes still speaking in present tense depsite it being a month later. while theyre speaking in past tense having already moved on. there is no sadness in their tone. steve cant even bring himself to look in the camera probably the only one that feels slightly guilty. her video is real and to the point its sincere and emotional because whayever they did broke her heart. their video was longer and not because they were emotional but because they were cold and trying to sell it off as a mutual choice which shows even more how disgusting they must of been if theyre okay to lie to their fans.

Absolutely this. The entire "brand" was based on long term friends going on an adventure together, and that's what a lot of us fell in love with and wanted to support. I'm sure the boys could produce good content on their own - but it's not the Valleyfolk. It's not the dynamic that we loved them for any more. Whether the image and theme of friendship was genuine or not (and even my internet-jaded old heart still wants to believe it was) that was their "thing". And it's dead now. I'm honestly kind of offended that it looks like they're keeping the name. They can't possibly think this isn't the end of the project. That's what makes the positivity of their video feel so slimey.

I wrote and performed sketch comedy with Lee for 18 months in the Sunday Company at the Groundlings. As soon as I saw this video, I knew exactly what happened: Jealousy. You can see it on the boys' faces in their (cheesy) video! Look, I know what it's like to work with Lee. Sunday Company is like Residency, but for goofballs. If Lee and I had a hiccup during our hours and hours and hours spent together, she was always willing to talk it out and work through it and make it better, like a grown up. She's a great communicator. So, this abrupt firing could not be about anything other than their butt-hurt egos. Lee is hard working, dedicated, loyal, and she has a ton of integrity. She's also a kick-ass sketch comedy writer and performer and her Lee-isms were ALL OVER the videos that brought this group to take home the First Place prize. Lee-La, I love you and this is ridiculous. I know that you will be doing something better-gooder in no time and all of your fans will come right along with you. Because we all know you are what made that show shine. And, uh, to the three cocky white males squished on a couch, lying to the people who pay your bills about creative diffs when you straight-up just kicked your only female and star of the show to the curb???.... While I get where you're coming from, you also don't have the facts. None of us do. I have never thought of the guys as cocky, especially Steve. His and Lee's friendship has always seemed so strong and genuine. That would make me think this wasn't an easy decision for any of them probably, but definitely not for Steve. If there is a legal reason none of the 4 have said why the split is happening, then I doubt it's as simple as jealousy. But I don't know any more than anyone else. I can’t do it. I keep going through the old videos and getting super emotional because I don’t know whether to believe that what these 4 people had together was real. In order to get any closure I just want one of them to actually say out loud that they are going to miss her and that they love her. If they’re going to say that all of that was because they had to protect that image that we had of them - then I can’t do it. I just went through old clips on all of their personal instagrams where there’s tons of BTS footage of them seemingly being friends with each other for SO long that it’s hard to imagine anything so bad that could destroy that relationship outside of murder. I want to believe these people actually cared for each other and that this is not just work or just for them to be candid and just describe what it was like working with her. I would respect the hell out of that honesty and finally get some closure. We're lacking a lot of details and facts but I will say that, as things stand right now, I am FIRMLY in Lee's corner. I subbed to The Valleyfolk because I was a fan of all four members. Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 3.5... all 4. The Valleyfolk minus Lee Newton is NOT AT ALL The Valleyfolk I signed up for.

I've actually started to feel kind of weird about Elliott specifically in the group. He seems to lately be really turning into a Hollywood type person. And he just seems a lot more fake now. I saw his stand-up special and after I learned he paid for that audience to be there. They are basically just extras. They had no liquid in their drinks it wasn't an actual venue that they were going to see a show at they were paid to go and see the show. That tells me right there that Elliott isn't really a stand-up comedian because no self-respecting stand-up would pay for his audience. I just think it's weird that when I started thinking about this, now this happens. And Elliot and Lee were supposed to be extremely close as she helped him after his divorce. And it looks like he paid that back by building her out of the group.

It's literally as if the Try Guys had a successful new channel outside of the shadow of their corporate overlords (which they do) and then suddenly after a year or so, and winning 1/4 of a million dollars, they out of nowhere (Keith, Zach, and Ned) shadily said they voted out Eugene and we can't ask any questions because of complicated legal issues...but rest assured we're not friends and he's completely out of the channel. WHAT? Why ever even tell us about this horrendous shit. I'm so sorry, Lee, godspeed, seriously.
