Hey Luke! Great to see this class. Finally coming to the end of the Beginner to Boss class. I can't tell you how incredible that class was for my learning. Looking forward to moving on.

Good to see you too! I learned how to play when I was in middle school thanks to these videos! Now married, finishing college, and rusty! Thanks for reminding me to get back to the harp!

Wow, that's so cool Allison! I shared your comment with my 16-year-old daughter and she was like, "whoah!" Congrats on all the wonderful milestones in your life, and yes now it's time to bring you harmonica back into it. You'll have to learn how to play your husband's favorite song. ;-)

How did you pick the Natural Minor vs. the Harmonic Minor? Not sure which to get.

Hey Luke , That was cool. Thanks for putting it so simple. Playing more sax these days but I always have some harps with me. Really miss playing out. Hope all is well...

Woah...I’ll have to find the beginner’s version. A link to the Lee Oskar’s would be helpful. 👍🏻
@FunkyHarp3 жыл бұрын
Hey Tony - Yeah, I wouldn't mess around with the Natural Minor harps until you get really comfy with the regular diatonic harps! I added a link to a Lee Oskar Natural Minor in the key of Am. Good idea because it can be confusing as there are also Harmonica Minors, which are a totally different beast.

Great video, man! Are you planning to do any videos on the melody maker or harmonic minor Lee Oskars?

Welcome back Luke! always very good at explanations, associated with your sympathy! this Minor Pentatonic Scale, which normal harmonic key is more suitable? thanks again!

So in other brands the same key (Am for Lee Oskar) will be labelled as Em or I am missing something?
@Eveningbreeze110 ай бұрын
Blow is Dm, draw is Am. Some companies label it Dm. Good in C major for country, pop, jazz.

That intro was siiick! So what genre of music is the natural minor targeting or sick well as?
@FunkyHarp3 жыл бұрын
Aw, thanks Gavin! It's really good for hip hop, reggae, minor blues (Like "The Thrill is Gone.") Actually, now that we're talking about this, I'm thinking I should do "Natural Mystic" by Bob Marley. I love that song. You can check it out on this song I produced last year. I take a solo at the end of it. Do you have Spotify? open.spotify.com/track/16f1Pcmr7uaeVb3a23cBaF?si=CHvNoDoqTfe-WDlOIQ4aEg.

Question. I jam alot and the lead sometimes calls the root Cm. What is the Minor 2nd position and the diatonic 2nd position?
@FunkyHarp3 жыл бұрын
Hey Vince - cool man! So if you wanted to play a Natural Minor harp you'd choose a Cm harp to play in 2nd position, BUT that a very high key (comparable to an F harp in diatonic tuning - if you have, one you know what I mean...a little shrill.) I like the Low F, but I don't think they make a Low Cm unfortunately. So the other route I would recommend is Playing in 3rd position on Bb harmonica. 3rd position plays really nicely, especially in the middle register, although it is a little bit more challenging in the low register. I definitely would encourage you to check out 3rd position. Here is my playlist on the subject: kzbin.info/www/bejne/amKYi4qIftmVrKc
