Although not as intense as Lee's family's experience my family was "registered" for future gathering to concentration camps by the Germans in North Africa. My parents never spoke about it. Like Lee I was also told to hide my Jewish roots. They were somewhat right and I don't blame them for being cautious in a world that still to this day has hate for Jews. Only when I asked my father late in his life did he tell me how every Jew had to go to get registered by the Germans. It was an obvious preparation for what the Germans thought would eventually come as they controlled more and more territories. Lucky for my parents the war ended before the Germans were able to put their plans to actions. I cannot imagine what an ordeal his mother and aunt and the countless millions that perished by extermination went through. Yes we must NEVER FORGET. Much respect for Lee Oskar to do this. Tears already. Thank you for sharing your Heart with us through your Beautiful Story Telling Music ~ It says so very much. World Peace is what I hope for every day. The War right now in Ukraine has my heart so very heavy. Beautiful people dying at the hands of one Evil person who has power over so many. How does this happen ? My parents came from Germany after the War. My father fought on the German side. He was a U-Boat operator. He ended up eventually in a Russian Prison Camp. Quite honestly, they did not share with us the horrors of the War. Both are passed away now. Tears fall, as I know this Holocaust was Horrific. Many people of the War saw more than we could ever imagine. There was a recent Documentary on Netflix of one woman's story of her journey as of Jewish Descent, as a family. All I could do was cry the whole segment. I imagined also what my parents must have gone through during this time.... Because of one Evil mans brainwashing of a Country. Lee Oskar, thank you for sharing your heart...... It is all so very Heartbreaking what so many have gone through...... It carries over to our Hearts when we realize how much our own parent have gone through. My thoughts are with all that have been through this horrid time......and for all people that suffer through other War's without a care in the World for human suffering. Yes Oskar........ We should never forget this Tragedy ...... World Peace Always is the way to go ~ Thank you so very much ~
