Lee and Mike are both great and this song rocks. I once saw Steve Morse play this song at a bar in Hawaii. You can imagine.

It's just epic to see Simon Phillips do this song. It's one of my all time favorite Jeff Beck tunes and Phillips is one of my all time favorite drummers. Total, epic, coolness!

First time ive ever thought that some musicians of THIS caliber should stay away from the covers and write their OWN songs....wow.

WOW is right... Who do you suppose wrote these songs? What am I missing? Dude in pj's... Is he covering Jeff Beck??

@@artistaloca4 well i hate to be the turd in the punch bowl here but this is awful....i fell asleep about 2/3rds in....and it was bad way before that....and ive been fans of both these guys since the 70's....and drummer Simon Phillips too....i just expected a lot more....MY band played this song better....
I do not know how many times I have watched this video but it is a lot! A little heavy on the progressive part but overall a great groove! Been listening to Lee and Simon for decades. Mike much less for some reason. A bit more progressive, and less mainstream than Lee and Simon yet still a great talent from where I sit.

Simon Phillips ist grandios. Das sieht so leicht aus, was er da spielt, aber es ist sehr schwer, diese Leichtigkeit ist es, was zählt

I don't see this as smooth-jazz because Ritenour was playing....nor do I see/hear this as much more than a cover of a famous J-Beck tune from decades ago which was cutting edge back then as an instrumental and was cut during the era that introduced us to Jan Hammer and some of that great synth-jazz-rock-fusion stuff that everyone was into....thinking Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, etc. It sounds like a 70's-80's FM radio track is what it does. The interesting thing about the video/performance is that you get to see what Ritenour can do when he cuts loose in a more free form rock genre.....Stern it is more about the tone/sound he gets out of that faux-Telecaster axe. Not sure it was much about pushing the technique envelope as much as it was about bringing back a track that most of us had forgotten about....and added a nice keys component and some slick drumming by Phillips. Not a lot of people know Ritenour nor Stern so maybe this was a good exposure piece for them when it went down about 10 years or so ago.
