I'm so happy and so lucky to have seen Beck live 7 times. One of the few GOAT guitarists IMO. He will be sorely missed. And very happy to see/hear such an excellent tribute put together for him. Such admiration and respect on show and great playing all around by every one of these cats. Bravo to these players and lots of love sent to Jeff. His music will on forever! Eternal thanks xo

Blow By Blow and Wired changed how I believed a guitarist could sound and do.Both albums are pure genius. There was only one who could do what he could do-even the great John MacLaughlin couldn’t pull off Jeff’s sound and style.

It amazes me how many great guitarist there are & not one not even just one can duplicate his perfect pitch. No one. What a gift God gave the world with Jeff! I can't wait to see him again so I can hear that perfect pitch and watch him control that sweet guitar of his. Miss you so much Jeff. Thank God his guitar lives on in his many many beautiful albums.

Don't think there was anything off about anyone's pitch. Maybe you meant tone or style. But why should they duplicate that? How would Jeff be unique if everyone played like him?

This song is one of the many examples of why someone like steve lukather should’ve been a part of this, not only were he and jeff friends and working together at one time but steve would’ve been the guy for the fusion stuff Instead we get weird noises from a pedal steel player

I think overall this entire concert was kinda disappointing. Why would you not rehearse, especially when doing Jeff Beck material. If they had to coordinate everyone’s schedules around their own lives it would’ve been better to wait and pick a time when everyone could fully commit to it.

Yes, Jeff typically had Marshalls, but for many years also a Fender or two in the mix. When I saw him in 2012 he had a Fender combo tucked down beside the Marshalls. He also often had one or two tiny Fender Super Champs atop the Marshall. And in recent years a 'Becktone' - which was a Magnatone with custom lettering thanks to Billy Gibbons. At one Crossroads event, 2007, Jeff was all Fender. It didn't really matter, whatever the guitar, whatever the amp he sounded like Jeff Beck.

Too bad Scott Henderson wasn't there. He's the only guitarist on the planet that I can think of that has some of the kind of imagination and innovation that Jeff had. Certainly Scott (nor anyone else) could reach Jeff's wonderful level, but Scott would have fit nicely in this tribute. He was also influenced by Jeff, as you can hear here... kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHnFY4h9fr6thq8

This song shows the limitations of Music Industry people planning the tribute to Jeff Beck, who - like his awesome fellow Yardbirds guitarists, Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton, had eclectic tastes, not limited to the guitar. In particular, this song - which in the original had strong contributions from Keyboard whiz/composer Jan Hammer - is difficult to rest atop a few guitar player who think they're going to play along with each other. Jeff Beck wasn't afraid of taking chances; and neither are these guys, either. But they won't approach this song in the same way that a brilliant keyboard player might come up with. That being said, this is one of the stronger songs on Grammy-winning album "Blow by Blow" - which got world-wide respect for Jeff Beck at last. It was a staple of superior bar bands ever since it came out in the 1970s, though, and while it might be used as a guitar vehicle(and works well as such, with a good arrangement) it's a mistake to trot it out and flail about aimlessly with it. Eric wanted to retire many years ago. But they offer him just stupendous amounts of money to MC stuff like this, so he affably comes out smiling and polishes turds as well as he can. He's got a wife and 3 twenty-something daughters, so he's never likely to turn down a paycheck for doing what he loves. It doesn't hurt that he's one of the best players ever, and has decades of reliably good taste.
