The song and the whole album is my childhood. I'm glad growing up with this music.

This piece embodies the paradoxes of a lot of smooth jazz so well - laid back, but intense; mellow, but driven; smooth yet hard. Lee's solo here is my personal favorite from all of his works, probably because I'm an aging metal head and always enjoyed a shredding solo. Outstanding performances by the others as well.

This is a Ritenour tune so I would think he takes it as a challenge to show off a bit because of the song ownership and because he's got another guitar gun slinger on stage who has the reputation for being more abstract and incredibly fast and limber on the neck.....he Lee had to raise the level of his guitar chops and as you observe, he did....I think it might be one of his best solo's I've seen or heard live.....he changes tones so well and extracts great treble sound out of his Gibson guitars.

i love the fact that Lee Ritenour is always smiling on every concert, i think it's important of a legendary musician to show a happy face expression while playing

I saw Lee in concert the first time more or less in the early nineties. It was a small theater near Brescia (Italy).. it was an amazing concert! Also Anthony Jackson was there! I remember me and my friends to see him in concert we took a train at the last moment and then on the way back we met him right at the same train station with his wife! Apart the autograph I would have liked to ask him a few things but, despite he was very kind, I saw his wife wanted to be quiet with him...even if a guitarist friend of mine "assailed" him with compliments 🙂.. Lee as always smiled...and thanked...what memories!

Spectacular piece of music done with huge taste a real skills ! One of the finest live shows ever...a masterpiece.

It is funny on how good it is....but an irony or two baked into the mix. Number features 2 well known guitar gunslingers....but the tune's appeal isn't just about Stern and Ritenour. Simon on drums is very, very good. Beasley on keys....a brilliant player, and Melvin on bass....he's the foundation and has been backing Ritenour and other big-time performers for decades. And, while it's a Ritenour tune and he carries it via his guitar work and special tonal variances.....Stern fit in very nicely. Stern is not known as a rhythm guitarist....but he backed Ritenour very nicely.

In questo momento non credo esista un batterista migliore di Simon Phillips, non tanto per la tecnica, comunque notevolissima, ma per la capacità interpretativa e la grande personalità.

Several years ago I flew home to Ft. Lauderdale. Waiting for my bag at the carousel, I see tons of musical instruments and all these guys standing around. I struck up a convo with the guy standing next to me and he was very friendly and I asked what band he was in it or somethin to that effect. He said Lee Ritenour. I was standing talking to one of the great contemorary jazz guitarists and had no idea.

As a bass player, I gotta give Melvin his due props. That is a real tough line to keep together in view of what is going on around him. It's not that it's technically a tough line, it's that the timing is very difficult to keep. The temptation to add even a little fill has got to be dismissed because it could throw you out the groove real quick.
