I freaking cried at the beginning when he died right before they got saved...the injustice of it killed me. Funny enough, back than before hearing this cover for this song, it reminded me of a friend who I dreamed was dead. He was a real friend, but me and him would argue all the time, he was the first friend to teach me important things about my life. I was always bullied and it was the first time I was ever accepted and the first time I was actually happy. Their was always stories he'd tell me that I loved hearing since they were about his achievements in our most favorite game which was a card game. We were the best of friends, but for some reason he'd always have to leave early for school and I never knew why. I never got to learn his full name either. One day, he said he was going to stay for the whole day and me and him started playing games and stuff. Pretending to be Dragonball Z characters and battle it out, until it kind of went from play fighting to us trying to kill each other. It was a rainy day. Eventually the bell rang and we went to our own classes since we were in school together in the 2nd grade. After that fight I never saw him again and my memories of him started slowly dissapearing. I even stopped playing cards because I couldn't remember him. I would have dreams about hanging out with him but I never knew if they were real or not because his face was no longer familiar to me. Than, finally 2nd year of high school I had a dream about him dying, being murdered in front of me and after I woke up, that was when I finally remembered him again. Unfortunately it made me think he was actually dead. I started telling everyone I knew about it, telling them that I lost my friend on his birthday, November 11th. Though, I than realized I never even knew his birthday. Eventually I found out that it wasn't real, I almost started thinking that he may not be real. But now I'm at a point where I don't care, I started playing that card game me and him used to play again, and I still keep those memories of him in my heart. He taught me so much, how to be brave, how to have courage, how to be aggressive when needed, how to show emotion other than sadness, how to have a friend, how to play games with other people, what it's like to be included instead of always being left out, but most importantly, he taught me how to never give up on anything. His dream was to become the best at this game and to make many friends. I guess you could kind of say I've been living his dream through the past memories he's shared with me. Thanks to him I'm a better person, Before I didn't know why this song reminded me of him every time I heard it, or why I almost instantly fell to tears listening to it. But now I understand why. But, even though he may not be dead, I don't care if he is or not, because no matter what, he'll always be my friend, and will always be like family to me.
