Another one that made me cry like crazy was a super old 70s anime called 'Alps no Shojo Heidi' pretty much the anime version of Heidi in the alps. That series made me cry my balls out, however Angel Beats still managed to make me shed a good tear as well, especially the ending.

This is so good oof-- This anime hit me so hard with the feels train, you have no idea. Like, I know this is supposed to be a little serious, but after I finished watching Angel Beats (this was when I was like, 12-13), I just bawled. I bawled my little tweenage heart out. And then there was a knock at the door. I was still getting over my grieving and I was like "oh no" because I was home alone and didn't know what to do. So, my dumb self went to open the door and it was a police officer and I was like "oH NO". Turned out there had been some burglaries in my neighborhood but I didn't really care so much about that rather than the cop asking me if I was okay because I had clearly been crying before I came to the door. But yeah that's my Angel Beats anecdote.

Very little emphasis on side characters, everyone except two MCs are forgettable and not very fleshed out... and the key theme is companionship but it was lacking in the actual anime. Angel Beats does a better job with this (fleshing them out, creating the sense of union and making you attached to the cast), and that's why the deaths&the ending are so depressing :/

The audio is prerecorded, mixed, and made nice, then the artist lip syncs on camera. It's very noticeable if you pay really close attention, and notice her clothes move between shots. I started rereading The School For Good and Evil recently, and I was listening to this (The original version) and I thought, 'You know, this would be a great song for an animation of this story.', And then I realized, yeah, it really would. I decided to listen to it in English, and.... Yeah, it makes sense. The start really matches Agatha. And then later on, when it gets to, "You took me by the hand..." Was when she began to realize that she was falling in love with Tedros. And then as it goes farther onto the song, it could be Sophie and Agatha's battle, and then at "I wish them farewell."
