This song is motivational. Basically tells you to keep moving forward no matter what. When life gets hard give faith a chance to make life better for you. And when the opportunity comes take it full on. There will be mountains (obstacles) but don't be afraid keep going never give up but give faith a fighting chance. Always stay hungry and keep growing. Mom hopes you never had to go thru tough times but those tough times is what makes you who you are. I wish much success and prosperity to everyone reading this, no matter what you do in life. Stay hungry for more, take the path least traveled and keep faith burning

Wonderful comment; it's not for me to conclude what is meant by "stay hungry for more". But in certain philosophies, and religions; it is believed that "the person who can do with "the least" tends to be "the freest"!

" I hope you dance" is tattooed on my right foot. My Mom gave me this advice when I suddenly lost the hearing in my left ear...15 minute "episode" and it was gone and I was left with the constant snowy tv sound in my head. I was a RN and prayed it would not change my career. It didnt... 15 years later my brain has taught my ears to listen in stereo again. The human body and mind are amazing. I thank my Mom for not letting me give up and keep listening to the music. Never stop dancing🙏

I am so sorry for your loss my dear, i hope your daughter dances and passes that love along and may your family's hearts be warmed forever by this song and many more songs of hope, love and perseverance. sending warm and loving energy to you and yours. I wish I could give you a great big hug and I hope the pain becomes a little bit more tolerable. I know that kind of pain lingers, but it's finding ways to live with that pain and not become consumed by it. I heard the most beautiful expression yesterday that brought me to tears while watching a movie and, in this movie, the widow says to her stepdaughter, telling her about her deceased love of her life "he wrapped a string of lights around my heart." I know that I am a complete stranger, but pain is something I am all too familiar with and anytime I hear about someone who has experienced a terrible tragedy, I cannot help but become overwhelmed with emotion because I don't just empathize, I am a highly sensitive empath and I just want so badly to help everyone I meet or hear about with their pain and let them know that even if we are strangers, I care and I wish I could heal their pain. I hope I haven't rambled on too much. May peace and love be with you and those that you love and may it protect you and them as well.

I would be very grateful if this song speaks to the souls of others as it speaks to me. "I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean..." Well... that will always be true for me. I lived with my parents on a 36-foot sailboat when I was 7-12, and there were many times when there was nothing on the horizon for 360 degrees- in day, and in the middle of the night. If you want to feel small in relation to God or the world, you should spend a calm new moon night alone on the deep seas. It will quite literally change you as a person. Being surrounding by nothing but the night sea is virtually the same thing as traveling to outer space. Nothing but pitch black below you. Nothing but stars in their brightest fullest majesty above you. There is no cathedral in the world that can make you feel more in the presence of God. Strangely, utter solitude and isolation makes you feel like you are most at home. You look up and see an indescribable wonder of simplicity and complexity existing effortlessly together. And then you look over at your Dad, silently keeping watch and a hand on the tiller, and you know that you are home. At home with family among nothing but the stars. If you believe in God, you will never find a better place to feel His presence. I assure you.

I’m 38 years old. I’ve sat out most of my life. I’ve never really “danced.” I’ve had a decent enough life, have many happy memories, especially from my youth. But I’ve taken almost no chances on my own. Never took any chance at love. Always took the path of least resistance. And lately, I’ve felt very tired...and lost that sense of wonder I once had for life. This song is very bittersweet for me. As I’m sure it is with most everyone. I hope everyone, at some point in their life and in whatever capacity they can and that has meaning for them, “dances.”

My mom loved this song and growing up she would play it on repeat, she always had the best taste in music. I feel like she’s talking to me through these lyrics in heaven, I love you mom 🤍🕊

I’m here laying in bed after healing from the toughest year of my life & just feeling & knowing how much I love and appreciate having my parents be here for me still ❤️ I know it won’t always be this way, so while we’re all still here I just had to come here and say I love you both. Mom, this is your song ❤️

Life would be so much better, if we danced more, rather than let anger and bitterness eat us up....

I was going to dance with my mother to this song at my wedding. She passed away six months before we got married. Four years ago, and the pain will never go away. I miss you Mom! A few years of marriage, two cross-country country moves I have to say my life is pretty good. I have an angel to look out for us. To anyone reading this comment, never fear the mountains in the distance. Go for your dreams. You will not regret it!

I have been lucky to have both my parents into my 50s but my Dad died last year and my Mom, with whom I am really close, has poor health. This song makes me cry, as it is, but if I listened to it after that fateful event, I am sure I would be a blubbering mess. My Mom always encouraged her kids to get out there and do what they can - Go Dance!!
