Yep! Theyre used to help stop blood from clotting after surgeries, usually those in reattaching limbs and such, theyre also given a waiting period before reuse to make sure they digest all the blood from the previous person, however if it can be confirmed that the patient had a disease the leech is not reused to keep diseases from spreading

@@martinsoukup562 medical leeches (yes this actually has a specific species of leech for the job) are kinda rarely seen in American healthcare, though still occasionally present, due to the 'yuck factor' many people get from it. Leech therapy is primarily used in parts of Russia, Europe and some Asian countries. Its all for the antiCoagulant and anti-inflammatory properties of leech saliva that helps keep the veins open during vital first momemts and in smaller capillaries where the bloidflow could easily be cut off and starve the area, leading to tissue damage
